I did an extensive southern music tour in late 2000, including Memphis, TN (Ecko, High Stacks, Royal), Jackson, MS (Malaco), Columbus, AL (Oscar Toney Jr) and Muscle Hoals (Hall of Fame, MSS studios, Fame, Malaco studios), and while in Jackson I was fortunate enough to meet Tommy.  As a result, I wrote an 8-page long feature on him for our printed paper, and those quotes are taken from it.  

Tommy really was a kind person, kind of quiet, and very likeable.  And I've always loved his music.
