Anybody knows something about an edited version for 7"? Saw the tune listed in a website collecting mix of Stafford tunes, saying that it was a Soul Sam spin back in the days, but maybe straight from the lp "Busy body"...

  • A fantastic record. One that does not need editing down or tampering with at all.

Quite agree, Dave - for me this period was when he was at the top of his game, making great records in his own name as well as producing the likes of Cheryl Lynn, Aretha, Dionne ... quite a tonic cons

  • The song was included on a UK Epic 12" single ... I think it was one of six songs mixed into one continuous  cut on the B side of "I Gave It Up". No idea how long a segment of this track was included

The song was included on a UK Epic 12" single ... I think it was one of six songs mixed into one continuous  cut on the B side of "I Gave It Up". No idea how long a segment of this track was included in the mega mix though. No doubt, Sam had it cut onto a carver for his use (from this or the full LP track.

Quite agree, Dave - for me this period was when he was at the top of his game, making great records in his own name as well as producing the likes of Cheryl Lynn, Aretha, Dionne ... quite a tonic considering how electronic and programmed most production was going at the time. The contribution of Marcus Miller was crucial imho.
