September 30, 20186 yr Quote Masaki Rush, wife of Otis Rush announced that on September 29, 2018 Mr. Rush, one of the most influential Chicago blues artists of all time passed away due to complications from a stroke which he initially suffered in 2003. more info on this sad news can be read via his website... https://www.otisrush.net/
October 1, 20186 yr I'm sad to hear of Rush's departure. Sure he was a fine blues guitarist but he often cut in southern soul style . Here's his version of 'Rainy Night In Georgia' from 'Right Place, Wrong Time' LP' from 1976 and his Muscle Shoals Fame Studio recording of the sombre 'Reap What You Sow' from 1969. October 1, 20186 yr Another true great gone-so sad to hear.His 50's Cobra 45's are jewels of Post-War Blues,and,as Firecrest stated above,his late 60's Muscle Shoals sides are mighty fine,too.Can't forget his 60's Duke (UK Vocalion) Northern classic 'Homework',too.
