always found one of the great things about collecting soul 45s is the vast array of labels and designs so thought it would be a good idea to post your favourite looking labels heres two of mine chicago,s betty label and from the west coast reness

the best uk label has to be "soul city" plus the "deep soul" label was no bad either,

Bill Pinkney in my data base had two 45's out on Game Records.

Game 393 'Can you forgive (and forget)'/'Ol' man river'

Game 394 'Millionaire'/'Ol' man river'

Game 393 was released in 1970, as far as I am aware.

Think Escort label is best design (but then Tony Scott's "What Am I To Do?" has a special place in my own musical history!)

Just got this photo off ebay

I always thought they were badly drawn/designed, though charming in their way.

I think the rococo design used on this particular label fitted our late lamented friend's interpretation of the "complex and rich musical qualities" of Deep Soul music itself however. (I seem to recall him describing it in precisely this manner!)
