Posted February 10, 200718 yr Be grateful if someone could answer this please. I've had the Terrific one before (sold it to Soul Sam) but never seen another blue Mala (promo copy too!); but which label is the first one? Thanks Paul
February 10, 200718 yr Mala was first, as far as i know. I think we've had this discussed back on the old soultalk list years ago, and terrific was some kind of reissue logo. f
February 10, 200718 yr Terriffic is a later issue as far as I know, although still very hard to find in my experience (even in Philly) and seems there's quite a bit of demand on it.

Mr Manship lists the Terrific copy at 150 which is a bit steep IMHO, I sold my last one for 60 or 70, mind you that was about 4 years ago. The 3rd edition price guide doesn't list the blue Mala copy. Does anyone know the current values? Also I've always thought Mala issue were blue and promos were yellow, is there anything else on a blue Mala label that is a promo?

February 14, 200718 yr Brilliant record, Mala is the first, John has one for £400, seen it listed slightly less a couple of times. Really hard to find I think. I heard that Terrific was a Belgian pressing or something? Great record whatever.... First head this on the same Andy Murfin and Frank Giacombe tape that had The Shadows 'My Love Is Gone' on it that there was a thread on the other day. Also had Five Chances on Finch, Cal Green, Chryslers and a great Royal Jesters on Optimum side that I forget the name of.....brilliant tape. Edited February 14, 200718 yr by mulf
February 14, 200718 yr The Mala issue, released in 1964, should go for between £300 - £400. The Terriffic reissue from 1973 (actually the B-side to "What's Your Name") should go for between £60 - £100. Also, Paul, I think all Bell subsidiary demos pre-1965 were plastic moulded labels (sometimes black labels rather than blue). Edited February 14, 200718 yr by Gene-R

Cheers Gene (and everyone else) tho you told me at the time I bought it that I'd overpaid for the blue Mala promo I'll be selling the Terrific one on my next list anyway.
