A major system login change is upcoming (2024) that may result in problems for those with 'old' emails!

 

'The ability to use a display name as a log in is deprecated and will be removed. Using an email address as part of the log in process is more secure than using a publicly visible display name.'

This is a software system change and while don't agree with the reasoning it is something that will have to implement regardless.

 

Bascially once this is in place
 

you will need to know your current account email to login to soul source

 

So can all members please check 

• their account current email is what they think it is and that it is still valid

and then if needed change it to a valid one

 

Both  of the above can be done via the profile page link below

I'm goosed Mike, tried to change email and cant remember my PW so cannot do either

yep, they should, it appears to be just for login purposes

apparently the 'theory' is using the email instead of the username is more secure as it's not in public view

 

I tried to change my email via mobile phone but wouldn't validate & kept showing consent to cookies. Sorted it now as have done it on my PC. Probably need to change my cookie settings on phone.

once changed

you can then use the 'forgotten' password feature to change your password for future use

anyone else having problems and end up stuck

pm me the new email and will sort/change as time allows

but will be quicker if you check and do it yourself

Sorry if this seems obvious, but if I'm receiving the SS weekly newsletter and info, to an email address lodged with SS and I'm happy with this email....I don't need to do anything ( just be aware that this email is the correct SS one for login?)
