I vaguley remember a track from '85 that Keb used to play at Stafford around 85 around the same time he was playing Anthony and the Aqualads. It began:

"Got to be a reason......why you wanna make me blue.....got be a reason.....why you do the things you do......"

Would really like to know what it is as remember it being a great track....any ideas from this vague description? It was 22 years ago so bear with me!

Bernard Smith and the Jokers Wild - Gotta Be Reason on Groove books at about £500 I think and doesn't show too often. Been re-issued (slightly longer take?) recenlty.

tis a legit re-issue tho isnt it didnt the singer have something to do with it??? and is only a limited run of 200 methinks

Yeah, was legit as far as I'm aware and limited (still a few knocking around). Can remember Paul Franklin turning a copy of this up at Beanos in Croydon early '80s! Think he swapped it with Guy for Sharon Macmahon (Gotta Find Another Guy), but might have been the copy Keb ended up with.

Deffo legit...........its a slightly longer version, I think there were 200 pressed........cant remember, maybe 300, but it was limited & done from the masters............I know the guy that did em, he's a cool guy & everything is legal , same chap that does the great Ol Virginia Soul comps.
