old Russ play at the Casino circa '79

managed to get a cut done a few years ago..from an old emi from someone on here years ago...

nice one to put on on an oldies doo...perhaps

I have an American Acetate of "Sweet Talkin' Guy" with "Out Of This World" on the flip side, no credit on it, so I use to play out in the 70's as the Laurie Strings - "Chiffons Theme" it was full on floor filler back then. Occassionally when doing a Casino type oldies spot, I dig it out for a spin, still fills the floor. I always had a soft spot for the Chiffons, so I was made up when I got hold of the instrumental, had loads of offers over the years to sell, but would never do.

If it's still up, in the alternative oldies thread, I posted up a perfect quality mp3 of the entire thing

Got loads of plays during the backing track phase at the Casino in 74. Somehow, Soussan got hold of loads of good backing tracks like this & all the mirwood stuff. Unfortunately he was not content with this and created loads of really naff synthesizer versions of old Torch type classics. Johnny Sayles, Ovations, Sam & Kitty Etc.

The Chiffons backing does bring back those great memories though, along with the Belles and Leon Young, Glad All Over.....Well perhaps not the last one.
