I need a nice copy of "Take Me Back and Try Me", not picky about wlp or stock, just as long as it's clean.

Every copy of this I've ever heard suffers from a distortion in the pressing. Some are more extreme than others , but it's another of those Philips Mercury 45s which seems to have been pressed on extremely low quality styrene, unfortunately.

Fabulous record though: classic Fame at its best.

played it on the radio last month...can't remember, but i do think it had a little bit of styrene distortion here and there. i like the flip too. is this a rare record? i never thought so.

I sold my copy a couple of years ago thinking I had another, but was mistaken. Haven't seen one since

I never thought this was rare either. I found one easily enough for about $20 but then again i've not exactly been looking out for others.

classic soul. I don't remember the styrene hiss being to intrusive throughout only light and patchy.
