Interested to know if the Frank Popp cover up by Smoove, i can't give you up gets played in the U.K. It's a great sound and alway's packs the floor over ere. Who's playing it and at what gigs?? It's on the club tikka label, no not chicken tikka.

Yes its been played by Max Millward (aka BLUE MAX) at our "Double Deckers" soul club, in Pensnett in the West midlands, its a cracking dancer!! And i played it at Stafford's "Soul Academy"

Think it was played 1st at soul in the sun mate.

i found a dozen copys in Nottingham a few months back, bloody awefull track imo.

does get a few up, 2 months ago it got 3 out of 140 up dancing

i suppose it will go ok at say "Skeggy" as it has the right tempo for upstairs, just not my cup of tea.

The so called purists, the ones I regularly speak to, think its absolutely terrible, has absolutely nothing to do with soul music, or Northern for that matter, and the only DJ's that play it are the sheep like ones that listen to what others say rather than the music they are playing.

Cheers Jock thats what the forums for mate. Won't be bringing it anyway so i will keep the purists happy at the gigs i'm guesting at. I agree it ain't northern it's just one of those records that packs the floor over here, especially with the younger crowd, and we are trying to attract new blood to keep the scene going. My kids ain't interested in the scene sadly and reckon they will be using my records as frizbies when i fall off the perch. Reckon i will have sold em all by then eh?? Anyway stay soulful. Tony E. Have to disagree with you there Jock, i do listen to the music, and i play what i like, and consider to be a good dancer, i wouldn't buy anything on hear say or buy just for the sake of it
