BritMusicSoulFan Yes, good shout mate, he has done a couple of decent albums this decade but this is by far the best, really enjoying the duets on it too. It has been mentioned on here a couple of times, normally by me or Toad, but its normally followed by the sound of tumbleweed shortly after! Think there may even be a couple of sound clips on refosoul from it.
July 22, 200816 yr Nice video here about the making of the album & also features some of the guest artists who worked with Al on the album. ">
July 22, 200816 yr Is it the same album that's got "Stay With Me (By The Sea)" on it? 'Cause that's good too!

July 23, 200816 yr Just ordered a copy from Amazon, it's first AL Green album I've bought since the 70s! What with the sound quality of todays systems plus Al on this type of material it should sound amazing!
July 23, 200816 yr Loving it loads, I posted the video with Anthony Hamilton ages back. It s good contempory soul music and perfectly right to post on a soul forum. But what do I know I m a girl. Loving the new Incognito too, because Maysa cant get it wrong imho and cant wait for Phil Perry. Lots of really really good soul music out there.
July 23, 200816 yr I was very impressed with his voice and the production. It sounds like classic Green. Although I must admit that I found the lyrics a bit shallow. There aren't any real songs on it. Mainly grooves he feels out perfectly.

Sorry Catriona it was you, should have know with your good taste you would have been on it. Just finally listened to the Incognito at weekend, and yes really good, nothing new but nowt wrong with that when its such good quality.
July 23, 200816 yr Can I mention Weller yet? Only if its to say that after listening to Al Green you realise how inconsequential and irrelevant the doddery old git (Weller) is. Otherwise off to some non soul site to discuss him, sure you will find lots of willing listeners!!!
July 23, 200816 yr Can I mention Weller yet? Why would you wanna',unless its to explain how bad something is
July 24, 200816 yr People have no love for Paul here I see I quite like what he does, I think the collaboration with Carleen Anderson had some very fine moments.
July 24, 200816 yr People have no love for Paul here I see I quite like what he does, I think the collaboration with Carleen Anderson had some very fine moments. You'll go along way Alex Weller is GOD So in keeping with topic I suppose, anyone going to see the Rev in concert this year??
July 24, 200816 yr The Rev is playing a small venue in Amsterdam, The Paradiso, September I think. A unique chance if you want to see him live. The Paradiso used to be a church I still plan to make it to his own church in Memphis one day, I've been told he gives the best shows in that venue. I must admit that I've seen enough of the Rev doing his classic stuff live in recent years. Though his voice is still quite impressive, it is all a bit too bombastic for my tastes these days. Its a solid and fun show, but the sublime days are over unfortunately. ">
