On nearly a weekly basis I hear someone tell me that they are starting a new weekender or thinking of starting one in the UK. How many are planned next year, are we not in danger of overkill.
It's a tough call I know and everyone has the right to do what ever they want. But from the point of the greater good, as with local soul nites are we not reaching a point when there are so many that everyone suffers with attendees being spread to thin.
Not wanting to say you can't do this or that, as the next new one could be the best one yet to appear. But again when people start something new do they think what will be the impact on other events. I know when we looked at starting Berkeley, we spoke to all the other event promoters locally and tried not to clash with other simular events nationally. Although ours is not a weekender the principal is the same we did think about the events impact.
