I read a while ago that flattening a record will only make it playable, but won't correct the problem of the sound change caused by the original warping of the groove.

I don't do ironing

I've ironed loads of records with varying results

flat surface, wet tea towel over the top, AT YOUR OWN RISK!

the sound change is mainly when the record is heat damaged -- e.g. the actual grooves have a rippled look.

i heard these record flatteners work much better on LPs than they do on 45s.

ive got a few warped 45s...that play ok....ive often thought of trying these flattening techniques....for example ...would you try flattening this ...(if it played ok..with extra grams on arm..(no jokes please) ? :D:D:g::D
