  3. is it not a case of that they were used instead of ballast as doesn't a ship have to be carrying a certain load for best performace, stability etc so if the load a ship is carrying is light then it would need ballast but instead of using the normal ballast (water tanks), would it not make sense to throw on some heavy goods that can flog off at the other end ? so perhaps were used as sort of ballast but not in the way everyone is thinking ?

  6. cheers Pete yep agree the amount (7-ish) does seem a bit over the top espically as they all show up around the same time maybe a sort of summary daily sort of one would work better ?
  7. its a test of autopost rss news feeds picks up new headlines form soul related websites as they are pulished and posts them in that forum the "breakfast news feed" in this forum picks up 7 or so uk news items from bbc and posts them daily I meant to post something about it after setting up but didnt it is a test/trial - and looking at it thinking is soul feeds - a way of passing on news headlines from some of the worthwhile soul sites/blogs that have rss feeds can look at the headline - if interest - click it - read intro of article and follow the link news in freebasing - similar but a limited amount , idea being latest news headlines may be of interest and may get some discussion going if wanted as said it is a test/trial and as such any feedback is apprerciated ta mike

  9. Winnie felt a need to comment as do feel that you are doing exactly what you are complaing about and could argue that you are indeed doing what you say others are trying to do , create a two tier "them and us" on here sure the balance of site is important, but the members do actually determine the balance, not one person deeming fit to post every time someones view doesnt match their own on a particular subject your posts about what and why people are going to post on here, did smack of arrogance to me, its not an accusation or ought, its just how it read to me , same as the agenda thing did read to me as a dig about site thats how they read to me, felt a need to comment, thats all mike post on account closure moved to members feedback
  10. Your name toby pedley Website https:// Location bolton Comments thanks to everyone who has expressed an interest in my dad (pedro)'s funeral. i hope as many of you as possible can make it on wednesday

99% sure was the players as well, as have a memory of sending off for it as the players and being suprised when turned up on doormat as cameo the 12 inch has got to be the version that was featured in thank god its friday film and on the soundtrack lp a few years later, was suprised at time to hear it featured but suppose could have been something to do with simons soussans involvement in film mike
  12. hey mate dunno or care who the f*** you are but you're history go and play games elsewhere account closed
  13. bad example you're assuming a lot "I know the argument will come forward" smacks to me of an arrogant attitude take it you are aware of all the facts in this matter "purely because of the person doing the promoting." again assuming a lot do you read your own words? you are telling people what they are going to post and why! I would say most if not all sides of most matters get discused on here using words such as agendas and the tired old phase"politics" which is surely just another word for dodgy/illegal going ons is to me a way of knocking this site, discouarging open discussion and to be blunt doing exactly what you claim everyone else is doing
  14. sorry Winnie but have to say if anything its your constant banging this drum that to me seem to be dictating how things are the site is all about talking about current things and as such surely discussion on plays, policy, styles, cover ups, and all that is part of it claiming it is some sort of elitist thing? well are you not just doing what you are arguing about and putting up divides looks like from here its you whos dishing out the name calling and trying to foster a two tier thing
  15. a. No but reckon a thread of country soul or is it soul country 45s be interesting q. should we give up trying to have a box influence on this thread now and ship it off to freebasing ?

  17. Mike replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
quick reminder please try and avoid duplication as 8000 clips already up good chance that well known tracks are already featured and as you can cut and paste a player link for any clip it saves both resources and time can please try and use the "title and artst" fields where possible while no problem with odd one, times not available for site to do it for many, so do have to stress that its appreciated if do thanks mike
  18. could be a laugh or could drop faster than a stone what ya do is answer the last question and include the next question in your post called yes or no but idea is what ever answer -yes or no you add some "amusing" or "worthwhile" bit to do with answer then ask the next one two rules to keep it sharp and furious i. if two people answer at same time - the "offical" next question will be the first one posted ii. leave any serious attitudes or stances at the last thread with me so far ok here's the first one q. have you ever deliberatly mispelt record details on soul source to f*** up anyone who tries to google it ?
