Thinking on.. I can't recall seeing it for sale since.. well, probably when it was 'popular' (mid-seventies) so bet it would easily fetch three figures on eBay if listed.

Got the track via the LP -two issue copies, plus a white demo.. but find that not all decks are suited to playing LP tracks (fidelity) which is why I (STILL) seek a 45 of this. Ex+ is better than most records in my collection - while looking out of place I suppose I'll just have to settle for a copy of that grade, eh ?? Defo take it if defo available !! Do white demo's contain a different flip to that of the Issues ?? Price differential between the two copies ?? Nope !! Once a £40 record - ALWAY'S a £40 record !! (unless, of course, it's a nice red issue, in which case even I would push the boat out... at £45 !!)

On 'Branding Iron' records - which, If my memory serves me correct, ( Yea, Right.. !! winning the lottery is probably less odds) was a Jesse James owned label (anyone who has a copy should, upon close inspection, find two small, raised, J's somewhere on the label itself). This 45 I aquired in my first ever 'Job Lot' purchase (from an, at the time - 1989, recently aquainted neighbour.. who actually looked like a 'biker' but had enjoyed visits to Top of the World in Stafford during the 80's it transpired !!) Only about 25 /30 bits in total - mainly pressings, and I remember Claudelle's disc 'standing out' from the other items he sold me. A 'stomper' tempo wise (and certainly not one that I would've attempted to dance to myself - even more so these day's, due to it's hectic non-stop pace). I retained possession until the late 90's - finally unloading it for the princely sum of £50 at a Wilton A/N !! Confirmed.. I no longer have the actual 45 - but somewhere here in the confines of either the 'record room' or, possibly, the garage (still !?! must get the rest of those bit's indoors - loads of LP's..) are cassettes I used, at that time, to record (for reference, mainly) the bulk of any 45's I'd 'handled' over those years. I will have a good 'root' around this after.. in the hope I can locate it for your convenience - unless, of course, some other kind soul just posts an mp3 of the disc itself in the meantime !??! Only other info I can add at this stage is the fact I've never seen it on a anywhere near regular basis over the years !! With even me able to count on one hand the total copies I've witnessed in the20 years since. My only available 'point of reference' at the time I aquired it was Kev Draper - who stated it wasn't a 45 familiar, or known even, to him (or his partner, Deniese)!

Guaranteed not to be your old copy Ken !! Would say nearer the £500+ mark would be a realistic value. Fingers..

Would that be a spare of Ray Fleming (wonderful flip, too, 'Another Like You') or the aforementioned Bobby 45 Mr Flynn ?? I've only ever come across Purdy's offering of Mr Flemings' 2-sider (a copy of which resides amongst my boxes) - is there much else on the label worthy of note? Knowing you to be a chap of impeccable tastes (especially when Big NYC soul is the subject) your recommendations always evoke avid interest (t'was you, after all - whilst partaking of a brew at one Mr Fev's if memory serves correct, who first made me aware of the battle 45 in the early 90's.. still not bored of it yet though matey ) Pray educate me further !??!

One can alway's rely on Mr Flynn to enter the Fray just at the right point... and I thank you, kind sir, for your educated assistance in enabling my chances of success by, at least, ensuring I look in the direction of the correct label (I'd never find one else... eh!?! Doh !!). Still a 'teeny weeny' bit dissapointed that such a valuable input does not, also, include an offer to satisfy my requirements though.. (note to oneself.. Move Mr D down a place on the xmas card list). but wait.... where did this notion for Goldisc come from if not for the Mr Adams want??
