Glyn put this on tape for me when it was still covered up as Florence Miller I've just had a look at the listing and got the shock of my life. He did me that tape for me , wait for it .... in MAY 1985 ........... 20 YEARS AGO !!! F'KIN HELL ......... HOW SCARY'S THAT??? Loads, Joan
  9. WHAT THE .......? Sounding a little Giles Brandreth-like in Countdown's dictionary corner there Christian mate! Like i said......... GIVE YOUR HEAD A SHAKE!!
  10. First time i heard this it was Pat Brady who was playing it ......... 15 years ago or more. (now that's scary!) But Butch did play it though a few years back. FANTASTIC RECORD!!! And anyone saying this is lack lustre easy listening needs to give their head a shake! Pure Dynamite ......... end of!! Loads, Joan PS: Kenny Burrell plays it all the time - he's got Carl Fortnums old copy. And i believe he paid a good few thousand for it ........

  13. Hi Lenny, Yes, like my friend Hippo said, it's definitely Softouch on Prodigal. A subsidgery of Motown would you believe? FANTASTIC RECORD!! Have given this the odd spin or two myself the past few years. Only about £20 ...... ( just watch me get shot down in flames any minute for that valuation..)!! Well that's what it used to go for ........ Hope you are well anyway sweetie.....x

TOP TOOON!!!!!!! Only released on 12" and as someone said before there are 3 other tracks on it. Gotta disagree with them all being good though. There's only one any good ....... IMO anyway!! I'd say £20 is very cheap - as you don't see it come up for sale very often. I paid £4 for mine ...... it was a good few years ago mind. ANYWAY GOOD LUCK IN GETTING ONE ....... QUICKLY AND CHEAPLY!! loads, Joan
  15. A hard one this......... but i suppose it has to be....... FIESTAS - THINK SMART - OLD TOWN Not the rarest record i know, but i grew up with this record and always dreamed of having one........ one day!! and now i have - always feel a bit proud when i play it! FEEL I GOTTA SAY SOMETHING ABOUT MR. OCONNORS FAVOURITE - PATTI LABELLE ......... YOU SAY IT'S BEEN 7 YEARS SINCE YOU PLAYED IT - WELL I HAVEN'T PLAYED IT SINCE THAT 'SOMEWHAT' CRAZY WEEKEND ............ I DAREN'T !!!!!!!!!!!! ps: Wasn't that the weekend we all went to the beach..... And Pete nearly got his hand bitten off by a crab??
  16. A good friend of ours sent us a record as a wedding present. And of course he used Royal Mail as the means of getting it to us. Well, the postman knocked and i went to answer the door...... JUST IN TIME TO SEE HIM BENDING IT NEARLY IN HALF TO GET IT TO FIT THROUGH THE LETTER BOX!!!!!!!!! ...... ?????????? !!! Loads, Joan
  17. Cheers mate! If you remember, and have a minute, can you dig it out ? Much appreciated! Loads, Joan Bet Danny still looks 15!!
  18. Thought i'd give it a go!! Anybody got any knowledge of Dave Warr? He shared a flat in Caledonian Rd, London with Danny Everard approx 15-20 years ago. (WOW......NOW THAT IS SCARY!!) From Cornwall originally, me thinks. Last i heard he'd moved down to Bournemouth ? with Sue. But i could be (and usually am) very wrong!! If anybody's in contact with him can they tell him i was asking after him please? And maybe ask him to get in touch? Would be top to know what he's been up to all these years. 20 years is a long time - and you don't half meet some people during that time....... some good and some not so good!! Dave is no.1 on my good list. Loads, Joan

  20. Does anybody out there remember LEICESTER ODFELLOWS allniter?? I can't believe the amount of people that look at me like i've lost the plot when i ask if they went there!! Ok ..... lost the plot years ago ..... but this was a MASSIVE NITER & can't understand why nobody ever mentions it!
  21. I didn't think Eddie Parker was too bad at Stafford - definitely a LOT better than he was at Gt. Yarmouth!!! Lorraine Chandler was certainly outstanding! Gotta say one of the best nighter's i've ever been to that one! and didn't he sing THE INSPIRATIONS - YOUR WISH IS MY COMMAND that night? and yes i remember Danny and co on stage!! Not too sure how good they sounded but definitely 10/10 for sheer entertainment!!
  22. WAS ALSO RELEASED ON RED ATLANTIC. That's what my copy's on. Probably a bit harder to get than on Cotillion. But what a top record .... Always give this a spin when i do a spot. FANTASTIC!! Good luck in getting one!
