  1. You need to ask yourself are there 100 local people that would go. It would have to be locals as I can't see people travelling on a Sunday for a 6-10 session. Lets face it you can't get a 100 people to go to some all nighters!
  2. I honestly can't wait Ian. He is such a lovely, lovely man and when he gets on that stage he just blows you away. Amazing Love and Love of My Girl - I have got goosepimples just thinking about it. The Volumes and James Bell - for me, this is going to be the best one yet!
  3. Me too. Have to say I have seen many more issues than I have demos.
  4. OMG! This has made my year. Whoo hoo
  5. He can give me my wounded copy back then
  6. You quoted me while I was editing my post. The first copy I had was practically unplayable and I gave it away recently.
  7. Both of the copies I have are issues Well I say 'have' - I gave the fatally wounded one to someone.
  8. Apparently Andy is the owner of the original acetate. Any other other copies are carvers / bootlegs or whatever. Andy's words not mine. There is a whole thread about it on here somewhere, like Chalky says.
  9. I first heard this on a tape from Rob Marriot in the late 80s and wanted one immediately. I eventually got one off Tim Brown's 'wounded record' list for a tenner some years later. It was fatally wounded though and I couldn't play it out. I got a great copy off Rob Smith about 5 years ago for £70 I think it was. When it arrived the package was shaped like a banana - no card inserts - only a ripped up Kellogs Cornflake box for protection (go Rob ). I was sure it would be broken. Luckily it was fine. Top tune indeed!
  10. That sounds like the one. Can't wait now - will definitely be an improvement on the tent
  11. Hello I am sure there will be some on here who can help you.
  12. Be careful or you will be accused of ruining the soul scene That night at the Greatsone was the first time I heard it. I remember it because I went up and asked what it was.
  13. I agree! I heard him play it at the Greatstone a couple of years ago. Top!
  14. Yes but they still wouldn't understand. I always go for the 2 word option - don't bother
  15. Not at all Andy! Big Danny took over from me so might he have played it? I will have a look through my box as soon as I can face it
  16. You should be wearing steel toe capped boots Karen Like anywhere you go, not all the music was to my taste but that matters not. The place was rocking and the dance floor rammed from start to finish - and I mean start to finish. I have not been to a nighter like that for many years.
  17. Are you sure it was me who played it Andy? Pretty sure that was the only instrumental-ish type record I played.
  18. Hi Andy. It was TSU Tornadoes - Getting The Corners - Atlantic
  19. And a huge thank you to Cliff for my birthday record What a lovely and generous thing to do. I will treasure it always!
  20. I have to write something just to let those who were not there understand exactly what happened last night. We got there at 10.10pm - a whole 10 minutes after the place officially opened. I was gob-smacked to walk in to a room with at least 100 people in. WTF? When does that happen these days. By 12am Karl was worried that he would have to close the doors as there was over 200 in That is a one hell of an achievement in anyones book. The dance floor was completely and totally rammed all night - and I mean right up til 6am. While this is a bit of a pisser to those of us who like to spread out when we express ourselves to the music (me and Elaine) - who gives a fcuk! A perfect 10 out of 10 guys. What an absolutely incredible night. It was amazing!
  21. I seem to remember someone saying there was a partition put up somewhere but I am not sure where. Was this new room at the October one?
  22. Just has a pm from poor Kev Fearnhead - he is gutted to be missing it! He said Cliff had better play his request though - the world isn't that big
  23. Take care you lot. See everyone later. Whoo hoo
