  1. John Weston and Chris Morgan get my vote. Not what you lot would call 'technically' good dancers but boy do they dance from the heart. I could watch them for hours. And they always lift my heart!
  2. Jeez, it's awful! The perfect record for Cilla Black though.
  3. I am surprised by how many people don't play the other side of records. Something I can't get my head around.
  4. Can't remember who that first one is by Chalky but it is another version of Four Tops 'Loves Like Fire'. I know Cliff Camfield used to have it because I had it on a tape from him years ago. The next one is The Marteniques on MeO (but you knew that already). No idea about the third one.
  5. Apologies to all for my lateness this time round. I was hoping to put some of my other stuff onto my pc but that's proving harder than I thought. Anyway, will try and get that sorted asap. If not, I will have to make do with what's on here already. So sorry in advance for that
  6. How about you ask him to post up what he considers to be a proper Northern Soul play list?
  7. "DJ's are asked to play 60 - 70% of tunes in their spot that people know and have and can dance to but also play 30% of tunes that they as DJ's think are good dance tunes." How can anyone presume to know what people do or do not know?
  8. Sam is one of the most approachable people on the scene and probably one of the easiest to locate at weekends as he is always out DJing somewhere. The grown up thing would have been for Kev Such to go and have a word with Sam in person. But there would be no public drama in that would there?
  9. You are right on both counts. But you are replying to something Soul Sam (who isn't a member on here) wrote in Manifesto. Soul Source is not Manifesto.
  10. Yes it's nice. But not nice enough for me to buy it again, if you know what I mean. 'Give Your All' is my fave by a mile, so I am more than happy with a demo.
  11. Great tune. It is actually Lorraine Chandler (but I bet you already knew that). The demos have 'Give Your All' on both sides. The issue, which is harder to come, by has a really nice b side. Shouldn't be too hard to come by. Good luck!
  12. Blimey! Soul Sam appears to be answering in Manifesto comments that you made in Manifesto previously. Is that not allowed? As a member with almost a thousands posts I would think you would know that Soul Sam is not a member on here. So why reply to him on here? Seems to me you are as big a drama queen as your mate who told you to "go somewhere quiet and read page 18."
  13. Now that's what I'm talking about! You got me thinking about when we went to the weekender in Seattle. There was this guy there who didn't so much 'dance' as throw his arms around wildly and shake his head, and whatever else he could shake, as violently as he could. We all thought he was fantastic, but I couldn't help thinking about how people over here would react to him at a venue. Not a nice feeling I can tell you. Anyway, the guy turned out to be a very well known record dealer in the States. What a star!
  14. Behave! Dance police? Jeez, it's only a bit of fun. (had to edit that bit in just in case Benny thought I was dissing his 'equally share the same passion' bit)
  15. Ahhh... that explains it. Goodnight hun.
  16. Behave Barry. What's wrong with you?
  17. Ha ha. Sorry, I am not as well read as you
  18. I think you will find it is 'there' and not 'their' Barry Larry Williams - Ask For One Good Reason - Okeh
  19. I don't think anyone on that thread sounded like an uncaring soul less tw*t. 42? By that are you referring to your age? If so, what has that got to do with dancing or not dancing?
  20. Has anyone seen Sean dance when he's not DJing?
  21. I'd like to think so. But I would definitely be tripping up any dancers that happened to pass me on their way to the dance floor
  22. I wonder if there is anyone on the scene who has never danced, not even once?
  23. Yes Dave, you had a bit of a shimmy at the last USOS
  24. If a good tune comes on, my legs just run to the dancefloor - and I have no choice but to follow
  25. Butch used to dance quite a lot years ago. And I have seen Mick H get down with his bad self too on occasion. But this is one of those questions you will never get an answer to. I sometimes think whether it's because some DJ's think themselves above dancing to other DJ's spots? Which is stupid because DJ's only put the records on the turntable, they didn't make them. That actually reminds me of someone's signature on here a while back (can't think whose for the life of me though) "DJ's are nothing but a dancer's labourer"... and how very true!
