  1. I have just done my BA(Hons) Antiques & Design and Eric Knowles was the fellow of my course. There was a thread on here a couple of years ago about him having a fantastic northern soul knowledge and record collection that funnily enough coincided with him coming to the University to give our class a talk on Tiffany glass. Anyway, after the talk I asked him about his northern soul past and believe me people he knows absolutely nothing about northern soul. And he definitely does not have a top record collection. He said his only connection to northern soul music was from his youth club days. But he did say that he was a big R&B and Blues fan to this day. He also said that what put him off northern soul was all the recreational substances people were taking. That said, he is a really lovely man, very funny and has the most incredible memory.
  2. Start as you mean to go on that's my moto. No pussy footing around from this chick I'm afraid, whatever the hour!
  3. Have to say I tend to go with James, although you do have some valid points too Nev. At the end of the day it is a dance scene. Not a sit on your arse scene. I agree, not all soul music lovers are dancers. But where would a venue be without dancers?
  4. It was frustration not aggression Mandy. But I suppose anyone reading would find it hard to differentiate between the two. So fair enough. People may not have posted on behalf of the promoters. But instead of they most definitely did.
  5. Really? So asking whether Little Anthony would definitely be appearing wasn't a perfectly reasonable question? Or whether the event would definitely be going ahead?
  6. Errmm... let me see Could have had something to do with the fact that perfectly reasonable questions weren't being answered. If they had been I wouldn't have had to keep asking would I?
  7. If my posts came across that way it was because people who didn't have a clue what was going on were coming on and posting on behalf of the organisers. Talk about frustrating
  8. I was going to go when the Falcon's were on. The event or the venue didn't really come into it.
  9. I'm sorry? I definitely was going to go when it was the Falcons who were appearing live. When I enquired about whether they were still going to be appearing what I got from Tracey was What do you call that if not a snide post? I posted afterwards because I was asked to by a friend who is not a member on here. If the promoters had come on and answered my questions I wouldn't have had to keep on posting would I? I wasn't aware that only those who had purchased tickets were allowed to post.
  10. Why not have a poll? Yes No Couldn't give a rats arse
  11. Mandy, I think Andy and Tracey brought a lot of that bad feeling on themselves. They ignored people's questions, couldn't be arsed to come on here and when they did were mighty rude at times. I'm sorry, but if you want people to hand over their hard earned cash, good communication is what they expect in return. After all, isn't that what promoting is all about?
  12. Lessers?
  13. It was made in the 'early hours' Paul so surely he is forgiven
  14. I remember that too Kev
  15. I got mine off Rob Mariott. I first heard it off one of his tapes actually. Was it played at Wigan or anywhere Gareth? I never went. Far too young. Honest
  16. As was everything. Hindsight is a sickening thing isn't it?
  17. I reckon it has always been scarce. Never see it for sale. Great tune!
  18. Innovations £50? What a bargain and what a tune missed an 'a' out in shock

Ha ha... it might not make it any rarer but it does make it more expensive!

I suppose when you love something as much as I do you just can't help yourself. And yes, you made me laugh out loud. And that is a very good thing.

So you are talking to me. For a start you have had no ideas of your own that I can see. Just the same old stupid questions that get posted on here on a weekly basis. But you are right I don't know you. And as for slagging your photo....

That has got to be the funniest thing I have ever read on here. Pmsl!

Although it's questionable whether that badge on the jacket in his avatar was there when the photo was taken
