Have to say I hate just about everything Stevie Wonder has ever done. There's only 'Nothing's Too Good For My Baby' that I can just about stomach. Anyway, as for Motown being any good? ABSOLUTELY. But boy did they turn out some dross in later years.
  2. Great! Unlike a lot of people on here - it doesn't bother me what a record looks like. As long as it plays, that's good enough for me! Well done you!
  3. Wow great find! Does it play despite the three cracks?
  4. Sure Dr. Pickles had one for sale on here earlier this week for £280 I think? Pretty sure it will have gone now though. Worth checking though.
  5. Careful Nev... your sounding a bit like Shep there mate
  6. I'd call his post out of order Nev. Jeez, what's with some people.
  7. I have the other version on Bang Bang. Jeez it's painful!

I'll hold my hands up and admit that I am a right Norman when it comes to what's being played, where and by whom. I think it's an important part of this scene and always have. I just wish the internet had been around right from the start and DJ's had posted their playlists from the beginning. Just think what a great source of reference that would be by now. I know that the main days of hearing brand new tunes are all but dead and gone, but I'd still like to see a section dedicated to playlists from various venues over the country. It will all be Northern Soul History one day.

Thing is though, unless you are Butch or the like, chances are the records you are playing are not your discoveries anyway. So what's wrong with other people playing them? I know it's a bit of a pisser when you play something only to have someone else play it. Believe it or not, it has even happened to me on occaision. But so what? Since when has it become about us? As for finding your own tunes and having faith in them. Yeah I'm all for that. But even you must agree Terry, that doesn't happen very much these days. Not even at Burnley.
  10. It was a HUGE Stafford sound Ezzie Monster! Great tune. Hi Sid

Personally, I love a good playlist and we always provide playlists for DDA. As I do for any other venue I DJ at. Although a lot on here are firmly rooted in the other camp unfortunately. Which is totally fine. I did suggest having a section dedicated entirely to playlists a while ago (to save trawling through lookback after lookback searching for them).
  12. Probably? How cool you are. Been playing this for ten years or more. Great tune indeed.

Who says it's a guy? Anyway, just a Chuck Holiday for me please
  14. Now I'm confused.. I thought we were talking about LP's
  15. Four Voices - Your Love is Getting Stronger / With A Lonely Heart - Voice Chuck Holiday - Just Can't Trust Nobody / I still Love You - Gloria I know you are all well aware that both of these records have the same backing track but different vocals on both sides. But does anyone have any knowledge? Would love to know how it came about. Without doubt four incredible sides!! Incredibly close, but if I had to choose out of the 'a' sides I'd have to pick Chuck Holiday. One of my most favourite lines in a record ever... "that low down dirty dog just stole my woman" B side has to be the Four Voices.
  16. What? Let's leave it here eh... damage limitation and all that
  17. Three fantastic album tracks are 'Lose This Dream', 'Build My World Around You' and 'Just A Little Honey' on the 4 Tops & Supremes Dynamite lp.
  18. Yes I am aware of that... it's your 'no one loses out' statement that I don't understand.
  19. Don't understand this. If she gives Phil half his money back - then he has lost half his money no?

Believe me, Steve would not have let it go for £700. I am sure he sold it for a grand. If Jock Mitchell's are fetching £500 on a weekly basis, then you will not get this for £350. But hey, I'm all for people who take the 'record box is half full' approach to record collecting
  21. Well I live in Preston and I haven't heard a thing about it. What or where the heck is Preston Priory?

Pretty sure Steve Green sold his for a grand.
