Info Please
Many thanks Sean. Have checked this out and seen a copy for sale. Would prefer the vinyl though, so will check the LP out mentioned by Flynny to see what we're looking at moneywise. If that doesn't work out then defo will be ordering this CD. Have emailed the seller and already got a track listing for the CD and you're right it is terrific!! Not particularly into ballads usually but Come My Dear, well, such a beautiful song. Just makes me choke up every time I hear it!!! ATB Carol x

Hi Marc Thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention and have to say I feel very sad at what I read. Don't know how I've managed not to come across this particular thread before but better late than never I suppose. What makes me tick personally are strong, raw, gritty voices, so of course I am a big fan of O.V. Truly amazing voice and he sings with so much passion!!! A worthy cause I feel and needless to say I will make my contribution to say thanks for the pleasure he has given to me!!!! Cheers, Carol- Deffinition Of A "modern" Tune
Bloody Hell Douglas !!!! You took your time getting back with that wisecrack didn't you !!! Expected it much sooner than that. You're obviously slippin' a bit in your old age! See you next week! p.s. Be careful with words ending with 'e'!!!- Deffinition Of A "modern" Tune
Just good clean fun Mike!!! By the way, you missed the 'e' off SHIT!!! Caz x- Deffinition Of A "modern" Tune

NICE ONE!!! BAZZA, can't remember the thread it was on, but are you by any chance the guy that described crossover as '70's lounge music'???? Was absolutely bad laughing when I read that!!!- Deffinition Of A "modern" Tune

More of a HUM HUM than a do do do or a da da da but my tune is STRANGE ON THE SHORE!!!- Set Openers
OK, let's answer the question!!! What entices me to the floor is something with a hard driving beat. Something with a bit of 'ooomph' as I like to call it!!! Soul Dance No. 3 by Carl Holmes does it for me!!!- Pet Hates On The Scene?
This happened recently and is peeing me off a bit!! Hearing what I think is a brilliant tune and taking a few weeks asking about to find out who the artist is (knew the title but not the artist). Then when I finally find out, BEING TOLD TO KEEP MY TRAP SHUT AS ONE OR TWO DJ'S INTEND COVERING IT UP!!!! AAAARRGGHHH!!!!!- Pet Hates On The Scene?
WELL SAID!!!! My pet hate at the moment is people who attend a venue advertised as playing 'sixties' tunes and then moan that they haven't heard enough 70's/modern tracks!!! WHAT'S THAT ALL ABOUT !!!!!!!- Soul In The Sun Lanzarote 08
Hiya, Yep will be there!! Nearly as excited as Di and it's not even my birthday!!! Must warn you though, I TALK A LOT!!!! Carol- Soul In The Sun Lanzarote 08
CHEAP BOOZE!!! AS JIM ROYLE WOULD SAY "MY ARSE!!!" Also get two or three rounds at once as the bar service left a lot to be desired!!!- Soul In The Sun Lanzarote 08
FAME AT LAST!!! I've been told several times I'm on there too, lol!!! As I was permanently pissed the whole week I'm afraid everything is a blur, but apparently I behaved myself !! Caz x- A Bit Of Fun - Help Me In My Quest - Issue 1 Complete
Top two contenders from me:- If You Loved Me - Peggy March and Moonlight Music and You - Laura Greene- Soul In The Sun Lanzarote 08
Totally agree Bazza. I went to Tenerife November 2006 and to Lanzarote in 2007. With regard to Tenerife, I too ended up in Manhatten's every night. Harley's was awful. Bar right in the middle so you couldn't see what was going on, the tiny dance floor (with bumpy tiles) right at the front of the place where everyone was walking in and then half way through the week the music Police closing the place early and having to move on to the Jungle Bar. Didn't like the Jungle Bar much which is why we ended up in Manhatten's. Did like the Fort on an afternoon though. At both Tenerife and Lanzarote the afternoon sessions were better I thought as you heard something a bit different, especially in Lanzarote. Two rooms made a bit of a difference in Lanzarote but still heard of lot of played out oldies at both. Sands Beach in Lanzarote is lovely and have to say it gets around the problem with Tenerife in having to switch venues. It's a holiday with people you've got something in common with. If anyone is thinking of going I would think the best thing to say is don't expect anything different musically and be prepared to hear some tunes night after night and you won't be disappointed!!!- Watch This Be The Next Big 60's Sound
Love uptempo but really don't like this one. The vocals and music just didn't gel somehow. Sounded pretty bad quality too and in a word was just too 'messy'!!! - Records That Make Your Heart Smile
