Popsike Alternative...?
Totally agree about the supply and demand and I am by no means an expert!! Have only been collecting for 2 years at the most. But thankfully I've got some good mates who will always give me some very good advice! I do look at Popsike but they don't tend to give a lot of really recent buys IMO. So personally would rather go with 'word of mouth.' Carol

War!what's This Band Good For?
Yep, James Brown and Fatback Band.............brilliant!!! Agree with your comment about War though, they ewere slightly off the wall so to speak, a few of their tracks did have a slight Latin edge to them. My point was though that back in the olden days there wasn't as much differentiation (hope I've spelt that right, lol) as there is these days.......jazz funk, disco funk, latin funk or whatever funk, just plain old funk!!!

Elmore James
NOT 100 PER CENT SURE, BUT I THINK THIS WAS AN LP TRACK. COULDN'T TELL YOU WHICH THOUGH. ABSOLUTELY CRACKIN' TUNE!!!

To Pitch Or Not To Pitch? That Is The Question
I Personally don't mind, as long as I can keep up with it, lol!!! A couple of tunes spring to mind, My Baby Likes To Boogaloo I personally find just on the slow side to dance to so am happy it's cranked up a bit. Also Stanky Get Funky - I can only presume that it's been speeded up many a time and i therefore got used to that tempo, as the last time I heard it played out at Bidds it was a lot slower. A few of us on the dance floor were looking a bit miffed at the time as it was too slow!!! In the end we sat down as it just wasn't the same!!!

Sam Cooke- A Change Is Gonna Come
Back in my teenage years it was acts like Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave etc, that got me into it all in the first place and 30 odd years later that pretty much hasn't changed. They're all still up at the top with me personally and I doubt that will ever change!!!

One Of Your Fav Sounds That Was Nackerd By You Or Your Mate Or Your Self
Just happened a couple of months ago. Was playing a spot up in Whitley Bay a few months ago. Sorted me tunes out all ready for the Saturday night. Unfortunately, left one of 'em on a dining table chair. Our lad came in from work and plonked his backside down to take his working boots of and...........CRACK!!!!! The record was My Elusive Dreams - Moses and Joshua Dillard. Fortunately I had a reissue on Mojo in my box too!!! PHEW!!!!!!!!!!!
