  1. No record is too common for this theme. we are talking real yoof club classics here. Shotgun wedding I Can't Turn You loose People Dance To The Music Ride Your Pony and there's more Tony
  2. Picking up from the thread about What If Motown had bombed, well just recently been digging out and buying the more common stuff for a coupla Hand bag nights and re hearing stuff like I spy Mr. pitiful Soothe Me Harlem Shuffle Rescue Me etc etc reminds me how good this stuff was, and why we decided to dig a bit deeper Cheers Tony
  3. Surely not the only one on here to know Carlos(Carl Wong). His Mam and Dad owned a bakery on the corner of West Park St and Phoebe St in Salford, where we used to fill up on warm mini Hovis at penny ha'penny each. Later moved to Cadishead, where me and Rick met up with him again and started going to The Carlton in Warrington ( Now there IS a forgotten Club). Cheers Tony
  4. Ta, any idea on value?? Tony
  5. Carlos, a very nice Half Chinese Lad who was a good mate of mine and Ricky's from when we was Babes in arms in Salford. Had a good record collection, bought a lot from a certain Mr Soussan, had one of the first copies of Paul Anka, labels removed at source so as not to identify it,. Not seen for years, believed to be now living in San Francisco. Next Question Please. Tony

  7. Sorry for slipping the thread a bit. Gangsters and Nightlife is another story entirely. Or is It???? Tony
  8. Deffo, and also a song of course, The Boy's Are Back In Town-Thin Lizzy is an allegedly thinly veiled "trbute" Tony
  9. Could be very interesting. but if you expanded it into a history of the Club Scene in Manchester .which from the early sixties onwards had "nightlife" to rival London, so much so that Krays fancied a bit, but they got sent home by the Quality Street Gang (must be a film in that somewhere). The Clubs and "characters" are legendary, I know it's been tried before, but not in detail. Go for it lad. Tony
