  1. That's precisely why I'm selling mine. Can't remember the last time I played it, and I've never seen a demo either. If no takers by tonight they will go on Ebay tomorrow.

'Stormy' by the Supremes came out on a UK Motown CD, and a US Motown CD.
  3. Isn't this the one by Cam Cameron that Johnny boy weston was playing about five years ago ? Too early in the morning to go and check my tapes !

The Carlton was up two flights of stairs, and it took you into the club which was above Woolworths. From my fading memory I don't think there was even a sign above the door at the side of Woolies, just a door ! Inside I remember it being dark, with dividing panel things that used to have huge cartoons on them, fairly small dancefloor as well for the size of the club. Seems so long ago now, this would have been 75 / 76 time.
  5. Thought I'd put these up on SS for a couple of days before they go to Ebay. Joe Simon - I See Your Face - Hush - M- £100 Really nice copy, as close to mint as you are going to get with a record that has been played. Sam & Kitty - I've Got Something Good - Four Brothers - E+ - £125 Definate vinyl original, dead wax reads 4 - bros - 10467 and has the Atlantic distribution mark AT and 'w' scratched in. Really hard record to come across in this condition. I'm happy to take trades on either record, but they have to be something around the same sort of value and condition. Postage £2.00 or £4.50 Special Delivery. Payment by cash, cheque, or Paypal (But you pay an extra 4%)
  6. Yeah, but I've heard some of your sets

Why re-invent the wheel Tony Neptune Discography
  9. We've got a white kettle now, we used to have a chrome one, but it was a bugger of a job to keep cleaning all the fingermarks off it. The point I was trying to make (Obviously badly) with regards to R & B and Northern Soul rooms, is that the two are far more akin in style and era than trying to play House music in Northern rooms. I never play a full R & B spot unless I'm in an R & B room, but personally feel that there is scope in any Northern Soul room to play some R & B, and the occasional instrumental. Anyway, stop picking on me, or I'll sulk
  10. Wanted to see what it sounded like. Thought as shite goes, it was ok but it lasted eight minutes so I gave up after 90 seconds
  11. Not really. I usually play some R & B in my set, I don't usually play House !
  12. All three of 'em, in an hour and twenty minutes, especially as Ginger had played some in his spot and filled the floor. There again I happen to think that's what a DJ is supposed to do. Fill the floor
  13. Yes but at least the vocals would last through the whole record, not just twenty seconds in the middle of an eight minute bass driven instrumental
  14. Touche How do you get the little accent above the e ?
  15. The word Northern appears because the thread included the word 'niters' in the title. As this is a site for Northern and Rare Soul, and I, and probably 90% of the members aren't aware of any Soulful House allnighters, what else did you expect ? I have no problem at all with having a room playing Soulful House at an allnighter, just don't try and force it onto me by playing it in the Northern Soul room, because it is NOT Northern Soul. If I want to listen to it, I am quite capable of finding the room it's playing in.
  16. Whilst I understand that's what gets played at Soul Underground, I don't think even you Lin, would claim that it's part of the Northern Soul allnighter scene, which is what the original topic was aiming at.
  17. Love the track, but it skips three times in the first minute, and as it's an acetate that isn't going to get any better.
  18. 1202 - Eddie & The Starlites - To Make A Long Story Short / Pretty Little Girl Second release on the label.
  19. I wonder if we discussed the next article whether that would be removed as well and if it was, how long it would take to get them all removed At the end of the day, if you write an article and publish it on a website, surely you do that to provoke discussion, if not what's the point of writing it in the first place. The whole point of a discussion though, is that not every one will agree with your point of view. If you only want people to agree with you, write for a kids comic
  20. --> QUOTE(Mike B @ May 3 2007, 06:24 PM) link Does it come with the CD? I put myself down for a copy on the authors website yonks ago and never heard a thing....... Is it thirty five including postage? Yes to those two questions and you can put me down for a copy! Cheers Mike And me please
  21. A minor glitch that has now been corrected. www.soulfulkindamusic.net/frontpage.htm
  22. I'd have thought more likely to be Tommy Frontera
  23. I had a promotor book me, and then DJ before me and play a boot of The Magnetics.

Not really mate, but I typed "Wingate Records" into Google, and two of the first three responses gave a Wingate records discography, so I was just wondering why it was so difficult to find one.
