  1. I've always thought he was on a wind-up, I posted this in April. Anyway what really did it was when he said he had about 3 northern records!
  2. If not, the worst! Sounds like the sort of thing you'd expect to hear on a Cliff Richard film, not that I've ever seen a Cliff Richard film of course .
  3. What about this?

It's alright I got it (the name that is), Just Like The Weather by Nolan Chance.

Don't you think In Orbit is a bit overpriced at £75 ,especially when a copy sold just recently on Ebay for £17! That Denise Lasalle track, what's the other song with the same backing? It's going to drive me nuts til I find out!
  6. Funny how the exclusive launch night is in Ince on the 17th June (according to that paper cutting), a day after Dean Parrish performs it at Peterborough on the 16th June?
  7. Here's a link to a topic in this forum about it from a month or so ago. >>click here<<
  8. What about those records that sound great when played out loud when you're pissed, so when you get a copy and play it at home sounds utter crap?
  9. Mike, how about just banning people who make unsubstantiated (no proof) accussations about so called illegal activities (i.e bootlegging) or bully boy tactics by other members? To be honest I'm getting sick of them.
  10. I've posted it in the gallery as I couldn't put the file into my previous post. >> Lilly Fields - I've Got To Tell You <<
  11. Not too keen on the Lily Fields. Mind you I've got another track of hers on the Soulsville Alldayer CD from last year. The track being, I've Got To Tell You.
  12. First heard this on the Dancing til Dawn LP from Kent.
  13. The annoying thing is, one night some chap had a swan copy for sale (for a tenner) at Solid Hit. I ummed and arrhed about getting it as I've got the BB copy and left it in the sales box. Ten minutes later I changed my mind went back to buy it and found it had been sold! :fool: Dave sent you a PM about 16th.

I've just been reading the May (2006) issue of Manifesto and I was surprised to see Tim Brown talking (or writing) about this track. Anyway I've posted a soundfile up in the gallery if anybodies interested to hear what Tim's going on about. >> Click here to Listen << Mods might want to move this now to Look In Your Box section, thanks.
  15. So that's cleared that up then!
  16. I was browsing Pat Brady's site when I found this: Take It Baby - The Showmen (BB) Now Pat states that this was the first release before Swan, but I'm sure somebody said on here previously that it was a boot. Anyway I can't find the old topic, so can anyone confirm if Pat's statement is correct or not, thanks.
  17. I only went twice to TOS, the first time my mates and I were leaving and some bloke said as we left "They didn't play any northern soul!" He must have had a walkman on all night!
  18. I ended my motown night the other week with Marvin Gayes Let's Get It On. As for a northern ender, for me it would have to be Ray Pollard and The Drifter.
  19. But, if I remember correctly Ebay terms state that selling of bootleg items isn't permitted. So surely all records for sale on there are legit.

Having just played both sides, I'd say I prefer Kim Westons (Do Like I Do) side. I just think the vocals are so much better. Mind you having only paid a quid for my copy at Wetherby car boot last year, 50p a side ain't to be sniffed at.
  21. I See A Rainbow is also featured on the Soul Satisfaction 5 CD. There's also a version of We'll Find A Way by Chuck Jackson on it!
  22. Ditto, apart from the mod revival, I was more into my trojan and two tone stuff.
  23. Gene I always knew the tube was full of weirdos, I mean what sort of sadcase goes round taking pictures of womens legs on the train? That reminds me I must take my camera to work.
  24. Shouldn't that record label's name begin with a "W" not a P?
  25. I missed the end of the auction on Pat Brady's site for the Sister Sledge test pressing, does anyone know what it went for? Last I saw, it was at £145!
