I've got a copy of this as well, I'd be interested to know how much it would go for?- Open Yer Ears
It reminds me of the wifes Joss Stone CD.- Half A Dozen
This is just to see what people are buying, my last 6 buys are as follows starting with most recent: 1. Jackie Lee - The Duck / Let Your Conscience Be Your Guide (MIRWOOD) 2. Garland Green - Jealous Kind Of Fella (UNI) 3. Chi-lites - What Do I Wish For (BRUNSWICK) 4. Theresa Lindsey - I'll Bet You (GOLDEN WORLD DEMO) 5. The Shalimars - Stop And Take A Look At Yourself (VERVE DJ) 6. The Precisions - Instant Heartbreak (DREW) What you'd call "Across the Board", I suppose! All off Ebay, apart from The Shalimars, which I got from Adey Pierce's Cotswold Records.- Kent 6t's 100 Club Anniversary Singles
Jeez, yet another one going throught the roof! >> Click Here <<- Well Here Goes
We need ladies on the scene, I mean who else is going to drive you home after a few beers! :tomato2: As for the DJing aspect, I would say that it was an assumption that women can't DJ, but this is not the case! i.e: Jo Wallace, Alison, Cookie, Niamh Lynch, Val Palmer, even Janine! We've all listened to men DJ and thought they shouldn't be up there, so why not give the girls ago? As for the dancers, I'd rather watch some nice slim female gliding across the floor than some fat balding bloke sweating away in his bags and vest!- Well Here Goes
I was just going to say this too. I think chrissieo needs a night out with Janine, Karen C and the rest of the SSCDT ladies. Although saying that, it may put her off the scene for good!- Garland Green - Jealous Kinda Fella
The Exits on Gemini is another, one yellow & one green.- Re Issuse Rubish
I'm not quite sure where to start with regards to this topic, anyway here goes. Before joining Soul Source last year I mainly purchased boots and re-issues, since joining I now mainly purchase originals (cheap originals!). After asking for recommendations on here, I've probably got a more varied collection than I probably would have had. I imagine I would have carried on buying re-issue after boot after re-issue and I wouldn't have records such as the following (if not for this forum or the people on it): Juanita Williams - Baby Boy - Golden World Billy Butler - Come Over To My Side - Brunswick Mary Wells - You Keep Me In Suspense - Atco Lorraine Rudolph - Keep Coming Back For More - Jetstream The Precisions - Instant Heartbreak - Drew The Five Stairsteps - Change Of Pace - Windy C Jimmy Norman - This I Beg Of You - Samar Chuck Jackson - I Only Get This Feeling - ABC Majestic - Send My Baby Back To Me - Equator The Avons - Since I Met You Baby - Excello Syl Johnson - Try Me - Twilight The Accents - New Girl - M-Pac Not one of the above records cost me more than £20, The Precisions only cost a tenner including postage from the US. I have only ever paid £40 or more for a record twice, the normal amount I would spend on a single is about £10 - £15. Some dealers charge you a tenner for a boot, so now I tend to look around for the cheaper originals. I'm not a collector in the same sense as people who pay hundreds or thousands of pounds for a single, but then I'm not trying to break into the field of DJing either. So therefore I feel that I don't need to buy the latest boot of the recent top sound. If there was a track that I wanted badly enough on vinyl, then yes I would get a boot if this was the only way I could afford it (infact, I actually purchased two a couple of months back). The only thing is that I don't seem to want them as badly as I did in the past. If I was to get one that didn't play then I think I wouldn't buy any again. Does this make sense or am I talking absolute b*ll**ks?- Garland Green - Jealous Kinda Fella
I was just wondering if the different writing on the labels meant anything? Anyway, still got a bargain only $1.99 (about a quid!).- First Record Bought
A Message To You Rudy - The Specials - Two Tone- Ebay Snipes
I've read about this sort of thing before. Where people have ended up having to pay £999999 for something or get left Negative feedback and be reported as a Non-Paying Bidder!- Doni Burdick
I followed a link from the home page to view the Doni Burdick record on Ebay, I wasn't going to bid (no harm in window shopping ). Anyway whilst I was browsing on Ebay I found another Doni Burdick record. I'm confused as "I Have Faith In You" appears on both, so I'm assuming the second one is a boot. Just seeking clarification from more knowledgable members. The other point of interest is how the seller quotes £400 in price guide! Original link from Soul Source home page Boot?? found whilst scanning Ebay I always thought the original release was the first one, am I mistaken?- Frank Wilson - Do I Love You - Dct Recorders Los A
Make that £102 !!- Northern Scene
My kids are 17, 11 & 3 years old. The two eldest could name some tunes, that doesn't necessarily mean they like them, tho'!. Like everyone says why worry about tomorrow, because otherwise Time Will Pass You By!- Soul Probity
No mention of Dancers, just Collectors? So each venue wouldn't require a dancefloor then, just a record player in the corner by the dealers? - Dodgy Or Not?
