Richard, I hope you are well, I thought you would have had a Motown collection sewn up given your affection for Detroit. I suppose not collecting Motown is much the same as me not collecting UK Soul labels, there are so many and where do you start let alone stop! My own Motown collection is maintained at a reasonable number of 45s and in my opinion makes for a tidy selection. Its generally based around the tracks I want to pick up and keep forever, choosing the White Demo format to make it more challenging, also adding picture sleeves where they were produced. I have occasionally come across oddities like the Temps 6-Track EP on Gordy, mine came with jukebox inserts and promo photo, so very nice all round. Of course where I haven't been able to pick up demos the issue for particular releases will suffice. I have had many more pricier Motown 45's in demo / issue format over the years, but if they are not for keeps they go on the sales lists. I can't imagine you will find it difficult to put a collection together given your knowledge and taste………. enjoy! Best Regards, Lee

Instantly recognised the fabulous horn intro to Billy Butler & Chanters "I can't work no longer" on Drive Time on the way home, surprise to hear a northern classic on mainstream news programme, someone was clever enough to use it as backing to a news piece about the chancellors November statement, clever given the politics and title! Northern RARITY out of Lynchburg - Virginia up for grabs, easily an auction item but here it is at set sale..... Robert Tanner - Tell me your name - MEGATONE 111 £800 HOLD temp2 44.mp3 Equally as good as "Sweet memories" with a great deep flip. When it does show up it never ever comes up in this condition and invariably never better than VG+. Russ Vickers was offered 850 for a VG copy on here in Aug 12, "Tell me your name" vinyl condition is as good as mint, label is mint minus but with the very feint lift on the inner rim due to the nick on the flip. "How I feel" vinyl condition is mint minus with just a couple of paper lines, label is mint but with a very minor nick on the inner rim and the residue from 2 small sticker spots either side of title, probably to have identified what was the play side for someone else. I was told some years ago when I picked up my first copy that Sammy King was the brother of Tommy Ridgley of "My love is getting stronger" - International City fame. Agree there are similarities with Willie Tee but perhaps it is the bayou style that shows the likeness. Sold my 2 copies for 250 - 300, still planning on finding a 3rd!!!! Lee
