  1. I'd complain. Their music policy is obviously slanted towards oldies & is a total mis-represenation of todays scene.......yap, yap yap. Col
  2. All good except 'Morrisons'.......cheap northern trash Col.
  3. The scene will shrink in inverse proportions to the average waist. Its all yin and yang. Col.
  4. Well you wouldn't, would you? Col
  5. Fair comment They do say the devil is in the detail. KTF Col.
  6. That's strange that, because my wife positively encourages me to go out. Col.
  7. And its non toxic!
  8. I think you're cracking up mate. Too much fluff in your ears? Col
  9. Bobby Paris got played saturday night & you were there. Guinness at a £1 a pint plays terrible tricks with your memory. Col
  10. I thought it was a fair reason. The term "northern soul" belongs to the past. It was an apt phrase for something that was happening 20 years ago. The north of england did a fantastic job preserving "motown style" music all those years ago, but the world has moved on. Northern soul was, and rare soul is. Its appreciated worldwide. Col. ps good to see you last saturday nite!
  11. Its also an anachronism. Col.
  12. Last 100 Club I got stopped by the bouncer carrying in "illicit substances" - V8 Tomato Juice & 2 bottles of Lucozade* (good for stopping cramp in the morning). The guys in the crowd behind me were less than supportive & shouted out the following "What a weirdo" & "Don't let him in - he's not one of us" That was fairly discouraging, as I normally get inside the building before getting heckled. Col * lucozade - its only for invalids & athletes.
  13. Is that in Leeds? Col.
  14. OK, you can join in too. Myself I'll be representing the "morally bankrupt" Col
  15. Was Soul Junction any good? If it was.....where can I get a copy? Col.
  16. Hmmm....sounds like a challenge to me! 100 club anniv. Sat 26th Sept? Col.
  17. Totally agree SoulSis. Quite lucky to have it back. This time round though, people are generally easier to get along with. Back in ye olde days I certainly found certain groups on the scene 'clicky' Moldie - I can still do do spins, backdrop and splits Something else that hasn't changed is: then - I never had £5 for a record. now - I still don't col.
  18. Personally I'm having a much better time on the scene second time round. Be interested to hear other people perspectives. My first time round was late 70s. Here's a couple of my thoughts: Now.....I drive a sensible car of Germanic persuasion. Designed to get me there & back in comfort, safely. Then......I drove a souped up Mk 2 Cortina, that was designed to implode on contact with just about everything. Getting there & back was a lottery, I'm surprised I'm still here. Oh & those jammed cassettes! Now......a mate will regularly pop round with a new CD compilation. Then.........so called mates would come round & try to swipe half my collection. Col.
  19. Not me. I've only got an MP3 Col.
  20. I've seen Jo DJ a few times and she is just brilliant. Her natural enthusiasm comes over loud & clear on the mike. Just a thought, but I bet you are dull by comparison. Col.
  21. Is Aretha Franklin the most over - rated soul singer? Or has she just been badly managed? Did Billy Preston over make a good record? What the hell was going on with that organ? Who's out most prolific crossover artist- Darrel Banks? Most prolific crossover label - Stax? Col. ps there's only 1 good record that uses an organ and its Darrell Nulisch - Handle It With Care

Yeah I know. The most sensible thing you can do with a snow board is saw it in half & make a pair of skis out of it. But I'm prepared to pay the price just to look cool. Are you skiers still wearing pink lycra, or was that last years fashion? Col.

I'd give it a go. But it would have to be snow boarding.....do you realise how uncool skiing is? Col
  24. I'm off to the 100 Club. Going to regret it in the morning. Hope you enjoy the site as much as I do. Col
