Surprised this thread is still running. I think its unlikely an individual is going to win an argument on SS. The best that you can hope for generally is to put up a balanced argument & open up a few closed minds. Never going to happen with this thread. If anything its going to polarise opinions.

Yes its worth purchasing. Although the figures may be inflated, they are generally a reasonable rule of thumb. If you plan buying a bit, say on e-bay the book will be helpful in the long run. There are of course 2 prices for any 1 record. Dealers generally value a record higher if you want to buy it & lower if you want them to buy it.
