  3. Nice record and a decent version of this well covered song I have this (possibly a spare copy too) - think it's quite obscure As you said the artist is Bill Murphy Plus One but I don't know who the Plus One is - anyone know please? Not sure if there is anything else on the label Presumably this is the same Bill Murphy who had a release on Pioneer? Popsike scan attached for anyone interested - the flipside (A-Side) is Happy Days Are-A-Comin' Value-wise for the Martin Music release I have seen this fairly recently for around £75 (ish). Just looked at Popsike and there are two copies listed that went at GBP £117 and USD $135 - both in 2008 It's not in Manship's Guide but is listed in the Brown & Koppel (1st Ed) guide at £40 Hope this helps Cheers Richard
  4. Can we post them all up do you reckon? Cheers Richard
  5. Me ... never Webby ... not old enough mate Have to say I'm sure Wigan topped it as an all nighter but musically there are some well dodgy aspects to it For me the more soulful 'golden period' of Northern was the Stafford period Cheers Richard
  6. Great stuff. Hey - no wonder all my old records are dusty then - looks like the dust gets on at the pressing plant Brilliant stuff Cheers Richard
  7. Hi everyone How many versions of the classic Curtis Mayfield song I've been Trying are there please? Impressions Mayfield Singers Fabulous Peps Four Gents Jerry Butler etc. ... Cheers Richard
  8. Irene & Scotts is quite sought after - credits like a "who's who" of the Motorcity - best on WDJ if you can get one Cheers Richard
  9. Hi all Tonight is Dean Anderson's excellent weekly Northern Soul Show on Boundary Sound Radio - 7:00pm - 9:00pm You can tune in and find details on www.boundarysound.co.uk or tune in locally on 102.6 FM Always a great, great show! Cheers Richard
  10. I posted up the other side of Rozaa in Refosoul if anyone wants to hear it - My Baby Knows Best. rozaa - my baby knows best - Cheers Richard
  11. Same tune as Johnny Dixon on Boss
  12. Great stufff Carl Very much appreciated - thanks. Yes, definitely sounds blue-eyed on "I Know The Feeling". That record isn't really soul either but it has a good 'Northern' feel to it nevertheless. Cheers Richard
  13. At the top of the screen where your members name is shown on the left and it says you are "Signed In as ..." there are two white search boxes to the right hand side. The one on the left says in it "live refo search..". That is the box to go for - type in 2 or 3 letters from the name you are searching for (e.g. masq for Masqueraders) and the list of individual tracks appears in a drop down menu. Cheers Richard
  14. Hi Mike Great feature that is When the clip plays it goes to the main clip page rather than a pop-up player page. Pop-up would be preferable for me I think as I could then stay on the main page while listening. Is this just my settings? Cheers Richard
  15. Love this record - great double-sider. The other side is also suberb "Confessin My Love To You" Cheers Richard
  16. Hi all Can anybody tell me anything about Rick Nichols please? I have "I Know The Feeeling"/"Infatuation" on Sound 231. Any information on the artist please or any other releases worth picking up? TIA Cheers Richard

  19. Magic City 020 Cheers Richard

When I get home I will post up the other side. Records that say PLUG SIDE on are promos - whether they say promotional, demonstration, DJ copy etc or not. After all, who else 'Plugs' a record but a DJ? A great example of this is Ronnie Taylor on Revilot - the issue is plain as normal, the promo says PLUG SIDE on one side but nothing else. Cheers Richard

Hi Brian - just did the normal - clicked on the 'click to upload files' button - selcted the file and then pressed the 'Add Reply' or 'Post' button - all was fine. Could it be your file size or file format? Maybe post a query in 'members feedback' and Mike or one of the other mods can then advise. Good luck! Cheers Richard

Err - mine is white and have seen quite a few of these. Big label = variations on promos, label/print layout, vinyl/styrene etc Cheers Richard
  23. I bought a very rare WDJ copy of a detroit anthem from a Soul Sourcer recently from 'sales'. It was described as Ex+. I asked for some extra condition info and got it, but no scans as I had requested. When I got it I was very disappointed with the condition as it was well below the description. Only VG I thought. Anyway, I had a quick look at Popsike and there was the very same 45 (with a picture!) with the distinguishing marks meaning there was no mistake - it was graded VG. Issue was, due to some problems I was having around the time, I had to shelve going back to the seller and then felt it was too late to go back to them - but obviously I'm still pissed off - record was £500+ and the grading was totally 'kin shameful. Cheers Richard
  24. Here it is from Refosoul four sonics - easier said than done - Cheers Richard
