  1. Why do you think that Pete? Richard
  2. Great reading this folks. Thanks for all your contributions. Cheers Richard
  3. I'm with you on the original topic focus Dean. I have bootlegs. Need to get rid. Bought them all as a youth. Had no idea about whether they were legit. Not knowingly bought a boot for 40 years. When counterfeits have been supplied they have gone back - and I realised early on that if my collecting was to be authentic I needed to know the real deal from the fake. Authenticity is something I have always valued and searched for in all aspects of my life. Cheers Richard
  4. Think you need to ease off a bit mate. You're just going to piss people off. Coming across like a 1-man onslaught at the moment. Some of your points are also well off topic to do with work ethic, people's careers and claiming state benefits. The topic is relative rarity of originals versus boots. Richard
  5. I have never really thought much about this record - maybe the title puts me off? However, whenever I actually hear it, it does sound great Richard
  6. Yes, maybe harsh - but passionate - and the point is maybe boots have their place - like home listening - but not when you are DJ-ing to a room full of people and they have paid good money to hear you play - and most of them think your boots are originals
  7. But there are many shades of greyness here - below the accolade of playing at the 100 club - which is where people in other places start to go wrong. I would never play a bootleg record to an audience - and struggle to understand why anyone worth their salt would do so Cheers Richard
  8. Yes, I see the Detroit one now mate - have it on CD. Thanks for posting - it's time consuming Cheers Richard
  9. Great stuff mate. What about the Detroit one - or have I missed it? Cheers Richard
  10. Thanks mate - just went by the Hogan name and thought it was Irish More power to you with these: Andre Williams - You Got It And I Want It (Ric-Tic) Volumes - You Got It Baby (Inferno) Cheers Richard
  11. Some great responses to this thread guys - thanks all Cheers Richard

  13. Love their early Pied Piper records - and their talent Some of their later stuff seemed totally commercial - like " Born Free"? Did they lose it? Richard
  14. Which one Bob please? (I'm on my download limit!) Cheers Richard
  15. What "Let's Do It Again" as YouTube posted above? It's not Northern, but wash your ears out mate Cheers Richard
  16. Great stuff mate Looks like I ducked out of buying after the double LP The Northern Soul Story 2 Cheers Richard
  17. Plus just what I call "flashing" (could be the wrong term technically) from moulding in styrene can look like a crack - like a very, very fine line - but it's where two areas of plastic came together in the moulding process - just like the fine lines you get in model kits - check out the other thread on that - Tamiya were king

One of the best records you could ever buy! Richard
  19. There's another thread somewhere on this I'm sure. Basically, maroon label is the first issue, the blue is a legitimate second issue and there is also a white demo, which we worked out was a demo of the maroon first issue. Think it was concluded there is probably not a white demo of the blue issue if you get my drift. Hope this helps. Cheers Richard
  20. And its THE ROE-O-TATION without the "s" Cheers Richard
  21. Yes, bang on topic Kev Great DJ choice too Cheers Richard
  22. The instrumentals one was "After The Session" I think. Have it somewhere. Cheers Richard
  23. Always rated this record
  24. Cheers mate - yes, that's a good one - got that I'm pleased to say
