  1. Nearly had a go at this one myself last week until i saw the re-mastered bit and there were others described the same last week, though I can't recall which. It's appaling how folks fake their descriptions as much as the records they sell. Bought two recently described as VG that were so battered they are virtualy unplayable. It's great though that this forum exists to expose these dudes. Thanks for sharing. Mick
  2. In case anyone is interested I have started a public group on the Flickr photo web site for sharing label scans of bootlegs and reissue, hopefully this might help folk with their buying in future. Please click here to access it. It's both free and easy to join Flickr and I would welcome anyone else's contributions to this resource. A public group means that anyone can post there, but please, only scans of bootlegs and re-issues. Thanks Mick
  3. Lovely tune - personaly I'd rather have it than "too much", good tune though it is. Thanks for sharing your thoughts guys. Mick
  4. This is another tune that used to be a £20 quid record, where the last few copies seemed to have tipped for £150 plus. Does anyone know if it's because its been played out? https://www.popsike.com/Ronnie-McCainnorthern-soul-45-on-TriodeThis-Timehear/390308535814.html Thanks Mick
  5. Another overpriced boot I wish I hadn't given away! M
  6. Not normaly my cup o T, but a touch of old fashioned northern: Linda Griner/Lyn Roman:
  7. Gene Chandler, another take on Claude Baby Huey, Curtis Mayfiled penned:
  8. Think it's "Lonely One", from the "Swings", LP - nice lilting instrumental. Mick
  9. 11. Always liked this. One of those covered by many artists, I know of versions by: Booker T (co writer), The Mad Lads, Ollie and the Nightingales,William DeVougn,Esther Philips,Al Green, Joseph Henry & The Mighty Imperials, Sunny & the Sunliners, Clem Curtis (the Foundations), The Friends of Distinction, Marvin Holmes & the Uptites and Tyrone Davis, I guess that there must be many more. Ollie & The Nightingales - I've Never Found A Girl I've Never Found A Girl - The Mad Lads https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSEYIN5SjPM A couple of the more unusual versions: The The Friends of Distinction is a great version: Clem Curtis (the Foundations):
  12. Nice version of the Steve Mancha classic: The Mad Lads: Did my baby call?
  13. I take it that it's a recent boot then? Mick
  14. There was no better artist than Walter to extract the pathos and hit that note of sentimentaly in a lyric, which turns a great singer into a legend, a soul singer. This ballad is tops to me, didn't know that it was released as a Chi-sound 45 until just, though its best heard on the "good to see you" album: Walter Jackson "we could fly" , Carl Davis produced, Riley Hampton arranged: Superb!!
  15. Laura Green "Moonlight etc.. I believe that the early 70's RCA Grey re-issue was a genuine repress, stamped matrix and all, does anyone know if this is a boot? It's been given the same cataolgue number. Thanks Mick
  16. All now posted out. As others have said, probably a few liberty's taken with criteria. Never thought I'd find an audience for my Duran Duran collection on these pages though. Best Mick

  22. Here's one that i took an interest in.
