  1. Wasn't it all a name thingy Ian ?, Solomon King just wasn't doing it so it was re released as Levi Jackson, same label/version etc. Think he was a taxi driver at the time in Manchester Ian.
  2. i dunno about "rare soul" nights !! i went to one a few weeks ago (won't say where) and it was awfull, playing a bunch of £10 underplayed 70,s and 80,s stuff, stuff i keep at the back of my sales box I think some people are trying to pull the wool over our eyes and play any old crap because they haven't got any rare soul or don't know what it is !! At least with RW,s nights you get exactly what it says on the tin, held as close as can be to the original venue !!!! wtf,s wrong with that !!!!! each to there own, it will be packed and they will have a great time, leave them to it and get on with your own life the term "Northern Soul" aint going anywhere soon !! it will see all of us out of this world ! One thing i do like to see is where promoters actually list on their flyers what they plan to have played, easy peasy for the punters to decide........rare soul or dancing outside superdrug Ian.

  5. So this is just a plug for above websites then ?? don't do Whitby don't like Cleethorpes or Prestatyn, Skeggy Butlins is best weekender imho, 6500 drunken adults, no binlids and a choice of venue from out and out NS oldies to nightclub commercial soul etc, top weekender run by Butlins who have more experience then anyone else currently doing weekenders, they know how to paaaaarrty Bridlington new Spa must come 2nd followed by Dave Raistricks Skegness weekender. After that it,s the scooter rallys that do it for me. Ian.
  6. Are you saying i,m fat another one who only reads posts in a negative way big big problem on here !! anyway whats this about last nighter at Bury town hall ??? Ian.
  7. Hi Chris, What your Joel did a few years back was something to be proud of mate , I DJ'd with him a few times and he always did a crcking job, also showed him some of my best dance floor moves , shame in the end he got a bit of stick off certain soul police and a few venues all of a sudden realised they had a "No under 18,s" policy Isn't it time you started wearing long trousers and wondering what those dangly bits are for Ian.
  8. I had one a while back, looks ok but as Pete said it does look grainy/blury and quite easy to spot. How much they worth then Pete ? Ian.
  9. Hmmm this post doesn't make any sense !!!, most blokes are "nice lads" Paul Better things to do would mean that DJing at a NS night is something he keeps on a back burner ! i have seen Alex DJ 3 times he does come across good on the mic and it,s great to see a young un up there doing his stuff and long may it continue but he needs to get his own identity and quick, he can hold his own at an oldies night (which these days isn't that hard) but i would love to see him do a 70,s/xover/modern spot up there with the rest of them , give him time i suppose Unless we are going to keep him wrapped in cotton wool get his playlist up !!! Ian.
  10. Jesus, just banged my head on the keyboard draw as i was ducking Ian.

Also Angela Mullarkey, went to her house in Fulwood a few times , almost sure we married and had kids wonder if she,s still alive I used to get the train from N. Wales to Preston, meet up with a big crowd in a pub right near the station and mark & Angela and we all caught the last train down to Wigan. Most other names escape me now !!! Ian.
