  4. Possibly the worst record I've ever heard played at the 100 Club; but those pesky kids like it!
  5. But you could give a monkeys Jesse; surely that's why you're being so caring about the bootleg customers who are getting a chance to buy these sounds at a cut price. They're who really matter to you, not the artists, songwriters, label owner/producers. It's all about us, they just created this art, they should be lucky we're doing them a favour and still listening to it.
  6. It's an interesting subject and one I can sympathise with as I'm prepared to pay good money to a DJ collector who has a beat ballad he'll never play but won't shift it on as it's in his collection. Frustrating but I can understand that. However keeping guitars, records and other artworks just as an investment is immoral in my eyes.
  7. I can't think of many instances where that is an appropriate analogy. Therr are very few places that operate a strict OVO policy. I would guess most Oldies nights don't and OVO nights are for people who are tired of the top 500. Any decent line line up of DJs would have most bases covered. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this is making an issue that doesn't really exist.
  8. Brilliant singer and songwriter, he had a unique style and influenced 1,000s of musicians and fans, myself included. I saw him in the 80s at the Blitz i think, with Georgie Fame and Pete Townsend in the audience.
  9. Anyone got 'That Girl' with I'm Glad I Waited on the flip Renfro 113? I've got it listed but there's no sign of it anywhere.
  10. Guess what label's up this week! I could do with a sound file or even a butchers at a scan please Ta Ady

  23. Thanks Kris, I may only need a scan so that would be good if you could do that. I'll know about the dub on Wednesday but hopefully someone here will have it if I still need it. Cheers Ady
  24. Anyone got an Ex/m copy? CDs in return for the loan. Ta Ady
  25. That's interesting, there's also an Earnest Nelson release on Runaway which sounds later than this. Jackie Lee aka Earl Nelson was named Earl Lee Nelson Jr. As the Earl in Bob & Earl who had been big names in L A since the late 50s I don't think he would have been moonlighting under this incorrect but close name. The Runaway single doesn't sound like him at all and he was an established solo act by then since The Duck. Worth a punt though.
