  2. Not much round the boot sales nowadays record wise but now the car boot season is upon us after the last 2 days of getting up at around 5am and mainly trying to buy antique and collectable items (which i do for a living) along with a Clarice Cliff Fantasque bowl for £3.00 have also picked up loads of UK 45s early on including the ones below for little or nothing which is nice to do and make the early starts more worth while. Do unto me - James & Bobby Purify - Bell Friday night - The Ojays - Liberty 66197 Dont leave me - Al Greene - Stateside 2079 I'll do anything - Doris Troy - Toast 507 Rudy a message to you - Dandy - Ska beat 273. Plus 14 thinks to think about - Chris Farlowe - UK Immediate 005 LP , Including versions of Lipstick traces , I just dont know what to do with myself &the Garnett Mimms classic Looking for you! Anyone else had anything cheap.
  3. Bought this recently on a Columbia ps promo 45. Great record!
  4. I dont think anyones suggesting that the sort of things played at wedding receptions and shag a granny nights would be played for one minute.Ther is some poor Motown but there is also some absolute wonderfull sounds. In fact I went to a so called Motown night last year as a favour to some friends where the DJ played from CDs including Baby love , Dancing in the street , My guy , Needle in a Haystack , even pluming such depths as The locomotion was played. It was totally dire and unenjoyable. The only good thing it was for charity.
  5. I agree a complete night of Motown would be far too much and as i mentioned earlier a Motown & Detroit night would go down much better as it gives a mountain of other options and only held on a one off occasional event.Would go down well IMO.
  6. I've been thinking of having a Motown / Detroit night at The 44 Club on the August date which i think could work well over a 4-5 hour period. I will have a word with Dave on Friday to see what he thinks.i think it could be a good night.
  7. Try it now , it was the wrong link

  12. Driving to Goodyears last night I had Soul train on Saga FM on the radio and a Four Tops track was played which I've never heard before which I think but maybe wrong was called "Oh dear" or something similar. It was a 60s uptempo track which was superb. Was I dreaming or is there a track by them called this

  15. Blimey Linda , where did you get that info from. I'll probably get in touch with the chap who enquired about it and send him a soundfile and label scan.
  16. If you want to add an audio clip at the moment while the site is bieng upgraded the only way to do it is upload the soundfile to somewhere with soundfile storage and then provide a direct link to that soundfile.Hope this helps.
  17. I think I probably disagree a little about hoping it did'nt get a release as its not bad and I've heard a lot worse and to be honest its not really for me ,I just wanted some info.As for what you say after that I have'nt got a clue what you're on about
  18. Just found a Danny Williams 1 sided Emidisc Acetate which has Danny Williams Since you set me free 10.6.66 hand written on the label but cant find any info on the track. I know it was never issued as a 45 in this country but was it ever released on an Lp or in any other country. Does anyone have any info? 22. Just found this great site with a huge full listings of most reggae labels , whilst some of the reggae collectors may know this site it may also be of interest to soul collectors such as the Island label which is listed where quite a bit of soul related stuff was released mid 60's. Great site - take look! https://www.xs4all.nl/~tapirs/
