  1. After recent discussions on here makes me want to ask this question. The dancefloor is full , you then play something obscure maybe that totally clears the dancefloor. What record is near enough guaranteed to fill it again from from experience from a Djs point or if you are in the crowd what would get you back up to dance to everytime.I need to know before I DJ again
  2. Gladys - Love - O-gee . The Forty Four Club Wolverhampton.
  3. Christianartifacts got kicked off Ebay around 12 months or so ago. He allways seemed to be selling so called unsorted soul and 45 collections ,shrink wrapped Lps which whe shrink wrapped himself and obscure soul 45s that cleared dancefloors in the north of England. Was allways blaming his "Rival sellers" for his bad feedbacks. He started back up again under another name and got his positive feedback quickly up to 50 or so the same way as he did initially by buying milk tokens at $0.01. I cant remember what his new username was but he's probably been kicked off again since.
  4. Heres a link to 747 by Saxon Dan bieng as you have never heard it https://www.content.loudeye.com/scripts/hur...6900&cid=600141
  5. well said chalky mate ,see you at the next Forty Four Club .Craig.
  6. I dont know if everything Pete played was strictly in the top 500 or something you would hear played at any venue you went to but the point is it was all played off original vinyl , the crowd really appreciated it , and with what superb stuff Dave Rimmer played they had really good value at £3.00 for the night even if I ruined it by playing Gladys . Ive paid £10.00 in some venues and not enjoyed a lot of the music played.
  7. Great stuff Baz. You were spot on. Everthings back to normal now.
  8. Ok Karen I probably worded it wrong , what i should of said was I'll give it another try and will be really pleased if I get a few up dancing to it but I wont worry too much if it no one does. Ill just put it down to experience and move on from there. By the way how are your screens showing the threads at the moment. I have the opening starting part of the discussion (Petes playlist) then the last 2 additions from this morning and everthing underneath is in a long line in very small print. It is the same on every thread I click on and has been since last night.
  9. And so it should. Great record. I'll still play it next time , couldnt give a shit if it clears the floor or not.
  10. Because he has'nt noticed they have gone missing yet
  11. have 2 threads been merged into one here now
  12. A topless female DJ?
  13. Not really , its a pretty bland midtempo effort in my opinion. But if you really fancy a spot in November PM me and your most welcome.
  14. How about if you come and do a guest spot down here then Ted and show us what proper Northern soul is?
  15. Your right Pete , I then played some tried and tested classics and filled the dancefloor again with the next few then got cocky , played something a little less known again and everyone sat down on there arses again. There are some fantastic lesser known obscurities out there but they dont nessecerily get a good dancefloor reaction.
  16. Not only that Pete I also started 2 records off with the wrong B sides. It takes a right twat to do that.
  17. Great stuff Pete.Dave played some wonderful stuff as well. I think the last record you played in your second set was Monique to a full dancefloor and as I said in a previous post I tried to follow it with Love by Gladys and cleared the dancefloor completely but thats inexpeience for you.I'll still play it next time though.
  18. Its obviouslly been played out off one of those so called custom acetates you can have made.
  19. 3 I've got that are not strictly latin but have very strong influences. A spanish boy - The Rubies- Vee Jay. I better run - Barret Strong - Tollie. Its a sad thing - Ray Pollard - UA. Tommy Navarro - I cried my life away - Du Jac.
  20. Yes Mark, a work of art , the sort of thing that would not of got plays years ago but nowadays is so perfect
  21. Not played too much lately in terms of vinyl but gave these 5 a loud airing on my deck tonight starting off with 3 beautiful downtempo sounds and then moved it up a gear. 1. Young emotions - Nick Ashford - Verve. Superb flip to When I feel the need. 2. Giving up on love - Ade Aleong - Vee Jay. 3. Tell me what to do- Connie Questrel - Decca. 4. Lets get together - Bongi & Judi - Buddah. 5. The reason why - The Dolls - Loma
  22. I put The shape of things to come by Vivian Reed up in the sounds section somwhere. Fantastic tune. I got a ex Epic promo copy off Ebay recently for about $5.00 but not sure if this is the going rate.

Very sad news indeed , the man made some superb sounds. I went to see him live at Fleetwood a few years ago but he did'nt seem to be in the best of health then. He was very overweight and seemed to struggle a little with his act due to this.
