Yum Yums Stocker Up For Grabs
Proper rare record. Only seen a couple over the years. This one looks in real nice nick too. Any takers? https://www.ebay.com/itm/EXTREMELY-RARE-Northern-Soul-45-YUM-YUMS-ABC-10697-Stock-Copy-HEAR-M-/170775063901 Regards, Dave

Soulsource Record Club Record Of The Day 2012
This morning's offering: Another underplayed gem from a premier Philadelphia outfit. Huff's 3 note piano riffs are as vital to TSOP as Mike Terry's sax arrangement was to Detroit's output. Great record. And once again....cheap!! Regards, Dave https://youtu.be/w4CLFSpF0BU

Don Davis all the way. Strong percussion led vocal, subtle female supporting vocals (hate the phrase backing singers!), tempo that makes you almost wanna slew your words. And then, halfway through, that marshmallow soft sax takes you to heaven and back...GroovesVille, late 60s Detroit? ABSO- FOOKIN'-LUTELY! Post of the thread so far for me. Regards, Dave

This morning's offering: Probably in the top 5 most 'majestic' introductions. Great Billy Jackson song sung by a stalwart of the Northern scene. Can't remember when I last heard this outside of my record room. Fantastic dancer for the price of a can of coke! Just how we like 'em! Regards, Dave https://youtu.be/CDAl1SQ82Is

Cut Outs - Help Requested
He also got the VeeJay cut outs to the first Beatles LP. He then secured the deal for the cut outs to Let It Be and proceeded to bootleg it, then hide all the sales in the deal. No wonder Mr Levy and his associates "had a word'. Proper record blokes, from a time long gone now. NO MORE TALES......!! You'll have to buy the book in September! Regards, Dave

Cut Outs - Help Requested
Yep, I've read the book and a couple of others about the cut out side of the business. Am now looking for someone to tie up that side of things with the UK thirst for soul 45s. There are a number of different versions of the John LaMonte story. Regards, Dave

Info Wanted Please
Is this being played again? Is that what's driving demand? Regards, Dave

Cut Outs - Help Requested
Did anyone on here ever deal with any of the large cut out dealers in the 70s? Especially John LaMonte's House Of Sounds located in Darby, Phildelphia? I'm looking for some info on the city's record dealings. ANY info would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Dave

This morning's offering: Another quality 45 from Weldon's protege with the Jimmy Bishop writing credit. Ms Mason knew (knows) how to deliver a sweet ballad with a little 'lushness' in the arrangement probably better than anyone else from the city's golden era I reckon. Another Hitsville Sunday Soul Brunch play. Regards, Dave https://youtu.be/uXWxyZ7EbJw

Soulsource Record Club Record Of The Day 2012
This morning's offering: First done I think by The Stylistics although this may be the original I'm not 100% sure. Both great, falsetto style, sweet soul outings that just float along. Great group the Vibrations, out of California as youthful singers, great Philly connections, including having the writer of Storm Warning, The Laws Of Love amongst other Philly monsters (Carl Fisher), who became a great friend. This 45 may say Chess but it's pure mid 70s Intruders styled Philly. Regards, Dave https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zuASolhjlWQ

Isn't this track on the 12 inch EP - World Is Rated X ? I don't remember it being a poor mix on this? Is it? (I can't be arsed searching the shelves for it). Regards, Dave

This afternoon's offering: A great uptempo song given the Gamble and Huff treatment. Original by Dee Erwin on Redd Coach although also released on Imperial I suppose it's the Chuck Jackson ABC version that's probably the best known. Here's Mr Sigler belting out his version. Regards, Dave https://youtu.be/LktiQtBy_uI

This morning's offering: Another great 45 from the group that were the Yum Yums under Jerry Ross' previous tutelage. This one's arranged by Philadelphia legend Bobby Martin and although Jimmy Bishop's name is alone on the writing credit's I suspect he had "some help". Think my pal Dave F has a Virtue acetate of this, not sure if it's the same take or not. Great femme dancer that gets aired now and then but seem ripe for a reactivation. Been tried at gigs a few times over the years but never really 'stuck'. It's missing something eh? Nice demo for a couple of $$s though, sits well next to "Personally" Demo which is also sleeved. Regards, Dave

This morning's offering: Am preparing for a research trip to Philadelphia so my next few posts will focus on the City Of Brotherly Love. First up, a group soulful harmonies 45 that has seen plays every now and then in 'crossover' DJ sets over the years. Kinda record that once heard for the first time you go, check it out, find out it's only a couple of $$ and get one within the week. Great group, great song produced by the masters of that sweetish, soulful sound. Regards, Dave https://youtu.be/TtHpgVHvRJM

This mornings offering: First played this almost 20 years ago. Found a box of demos at an outdoor market just off the US27. Went for a couple of quid each. Great midtempo girlie thingumijig. Still cheap as chips just how we like 'em too. Regards, Dave https://youtu.be/-rRq_q7z2sM

Soulsource Record Club Record Of The Day 2012
This afternoon's offering: A record I always personally associate with The Yate Allnighters. Happy days! Long drive from Burnley, and usually in a transit van with a bunch of other loonies, but worth it. Regards, Dave https://youtu.be/UNC9RFKYFR4

Russ, Seen him sing it live TWICE in the 80s. A song of GINORMOUS proportions. Love it! Regards, Dave

This morning's offering: Another record that has seen some plays at the Hitsville Weekender Sunday Soul Brunches. No dressing up in fancy party frocks here folks, just a drum and horn led beat interspersed with a single solitary guitar lick now and then. It's all about the vocal and the lyrics. Great record. Regards, Dave https://youtu.be/3BmsA5N0Gmc

This afternoon's offering: Fantastic song, great vocals, produced by LEGENDS. Can't really fail to hit the spot can it? Same as Smith Brothers on Soul Dimension. There were a few found in California about 6/7 years ago. Manged to get a couple. Kept this one as as part of my Pied Piper 'collection'. Always loved it...FANTASTICO! Regards, Dave https://youtu.be/XxDThtwcnaI

J J Barnes Snowflake Volt, Valuation Please
I've had a many an issue but not too many demos in good nick. I'd be asking nearer 40/50 for a demo in good nick. Regards, Dave
