  1. Thanks but unfortunately this guy is looking for a bit more than that

Just been told by a reliable source that the guy has found 100. He has offered me a couple at $700 each but if the 100 figure is correct then I reckon the price could be lower than $700 before long.

Hi Tony I didn't know they were different versions. Not played my copy for years or heard it out. Anyone got a soundfile of the CB one? Mark

Has it got to be the C B release? I've got one on Resist with Sweete'n/ Who'll Cry on it. I think its the harder one of the 2 releases. Might sell or trade it. Mark
  6. Just checked and mines exactly the same 1007 and 1008. I noticed the same thing on my Moments on Deep. You Said is 001 and Hey Boy is 003. Hope this helps Mark
  7. Sorting through some old boxes for an oldies spot I am doing tomorrow and I came across this. I've not heard this for over 25 years and it still sounds good to me. Anyone agree or am I just letting nostalgia rule my senses. I can't remember seeing this in sales boxes either. Why, coz I don't think its that rare? Mark
  8. £250 is a good price for this great tune. Maybe you should have priced it differently to get the price you are after NORWOOD LONG - £350 reduced to £250 for the bargain hunters A bit tacky I know but it works for estate agents and I have been told by some dealers at events that they use this tactic because they know people will always try to knock them down!!

I was always under the impression that the 1sided "Rules of Love" demos were a lot harder than the 1 sided "Laws of Love" demos but all of the copies on Popsike are "Rules of Love". Have I got it wrong way around? Mark
  10. We always focus on whats gone for higher than expected prices, sometimes I am more interested in what if anything has gone at lower than expected price. You don't see the Epsilons around that much and I would have expected it to go for more on one of John's auctions. Be interested if others agree or if I'm wrong for a change!!

Me and Ian O'Hara were in Chicago in 2003 and found 2 stock copies at a Doo Wop collectors house. Ian has sold almost all of his collection since he went to New Zealand but I still have mine. Whenever I do the odd (very odd) spot I tend to play Clarence Hill because it always gets a good reaction. Was very surprised on John's auction the other week to see him describe it as "Latin". Not how I would personally describe it. Mark
  12. We were discussing this at the weekend and for me personally its very simple. If you can feel the music your in whatever your age, race, height or weight !! As long as its the individuals own choice and they have not been forced to come along by their parents. I'd rather have young people at a soul night who are into the music than some of the pissheads who come in off the street for a late drink and then start taking the piss out of everybody. As Dave has said one of the many good things about going to events abroad is the wide range of ages that you get attending. Everybodys welcome which is how it should be. Mark
  13. Larry Allen - Can't we talk it over Tony Galla - In Love Wilbur Reynolds - Sweet'n Classic 100mph's Mark

  15. I noticed the different numbers on the Ebay copy. Has anybody else got a copy with different numbers and are they dodgy or not? Mark

Moved from Derby to London a good few years back and as far as I know is still there.
  19. Just had a quick scan through and this one made me laugh, and I've just opened a big tax bill so I needed a laugh Random thoughts - Robert Mays Jr. The best things that I receive are the thoughts that come to me, when I am completely free and at perfect ease. When I stand in this little room, my thoughts do jell to great, for I find I am utmost at ease, when I urinate. Some of the others are very deep and thought provoking !!
  20. The book has about 40 poems all written by Bob. Some very deep stuff mostly about everyday life, and a couple about fishing !! Theres even one about falling for a girl. Can't picture Bob all loved up!! Don't get over excited about the Rams theres a long way to go. It's deffo better to watch than last year though!! Mark
  21. Hi Chris I been to Bobs store many times and always found him a good guy. Last time I was there he hands me a vinyl blank label record with hand written credits on it of Brenda Holloway. He reckoned it was old and came direct from Motown but it looked too new to me. When I played it it had On The Right Track c/w My World Is Crumbling. Often wondered where it did come from. Another time he gave me a book of poems he had written, I guess loads of us have a copy of that book. Sad news indeed. Mark
  22. From his last batch he sold 23 items worth just over $1000. If he gets half of it in he has a nice little earner. Even though he uses a PO box some collectors in Belgium must know him. He's done this several times and it does reflect on all Belgium sellers because most of us are extra careful now when dealing with anyone from that country. I did bid on 1 record which I won. When he sent me an email asking for cash payment I replied saying that I was suspicous due to what I heard. He responded a couple of days later saying that he would send the record and that I could send him the cash after the record arrived. Its not turned up a week later and perhaps he thought that would give him time until the cash turned up from some of the winners. Hopefully some saw what was put about him on the site and didnt send the cash but you can bet some did. Is'nt there a Belgium version of the Soul Police?
  23. I have played The Tears out a couple of times but when I'm at home it always has to give way to Linda Cumbo - Yesterday, Today and Tommorrow which is one of the wifes favourite records. The Tears gets loads of mentions but have never seen Linda Cumbo on Soul sauce thread as far as I can remember. Mark
  24. I sent an email to a friend in Belgium that I buy off and he has said stay away as hes dodgy. Apparently there have been numerous incidents of people sending money and not receiving their goods.
