  10. Remember it well, still got the mag issue. I got my workmate at the time to have a read, since then he's been an avid soul fan. " of such things are legends made " A timeless line from the article, we still say that whenever we hear the 'tune'

  12. Painted lady, Melton. The oldies room was tiny, I remember 2 of my pals on the dancefloor, I had to dive for cover. Te DJ was behind a small " serving hatch" . . . Tiny indeed

I hope they got the lyrics right ! I won't listen to that god awful soft cell shamble, for the simple fact 'mincing' Marc sings "if you think love is to pray, well i'm sorry i don't pray that way" ......... since when did Gloria Jones sing that in her tune ? arrgghhhhhhhhh. also, when did GJ sing "take my tears" ? If the pair of clowns had listend to the song properly, maybe the other murderers would have got it correct too. Rant over
  15. Quality! Oh to have been there . . . . JW was exciting and always gave 100% , what a gread thread , lovin it.
  16. Very very sad news. It's Groundhog Day again! Love won't let me wait..... . What soul and emotion! The haunting and almost psych guitar intro on 'call me tomorrow' is a magnet to a dancefloor for me, absolutely love it. RIP friend.
  17. Sorry we missed the second half of your spot Danny, was enjoying it. ( had to get back coz of work etc ), TJ Williams , the natural four and the coasters had me rockin. Sunday afternoon was the highlight of the weekend for me. Deserved main room spot
  18. You can get a Columbia special products 70's re issue, legit release, if you struggle to get an OV copy
  19. Brilliant. I spun it at Nuneaton niter, I loved it, the dance floor loved it !
  20. One of the few tunes I'd be bothered to buy if it came my way. Even tho I have the Carl Carlton version, brilliant record.
  21. I'll take that thanks. pm your details please
  22. seriously, you'll get a lot more if you sell individually. the EASC patches are desriabe, casino ones sell if in good nick, the rarer casino patches can fetch well over 3 figures . I sold an EASC 6th anniv for big money, a 2nd anniv for £72, a Mr M's patch for £140. I still have a Mint 'M's' which i won't sell. A lot of people like the memorabillia, i'd split them up Tony
  23. I sold mine for £38. you'd probably get more (maybe less, who knows? ). I sold the 6th anniv patch for over £70. whatever the nay sayers think, there's no denying the desirabilaty of good vintage patches. I have 3 left, which i'm still undecided whether i sell or not.
  24. good luck with your search... if you get stuck, i have the one stated above
