oh me gawd yes. he was a nice guy, i have vivid memories of him dancing close with his wife to 'you dont love me' at a Nottm palais all dayer many many moons ago talking of the Brit, i only ventured a couple of times, the most memorable being a coach trip to wigan in the snow, but thats another story

Tim Tam & the Turn On's - There she comes?? (i think) . how awful was that? i seem to remember it being 'covered up' , Frankie Valli & the Beach boys?! heaven forbid! what about the Harry Betts orch - fantastic plastic machine (or summat like that)? The Jewells - we got togetherness Muriel Day (enough said) The grand piano company - Esperanto Phil Coulter - A good thing going ( i remember asking soul sam to play this at Kirby bellars) and finally........ the Mickey Mouse concerto I remember all of these packing dancefloors in the late 70's

Tunes i recall vividly were the stalwarts like : you get your kicks, i love music, keep on running. but the most memorable tunes i heard in there were- just can't live my life (Brian Rae stating it was his fave tune, along with 'baby i need your loving') sweet darling let her go

I rememeber vividly Frank sitting on the nottm palais steps one sunday (around 79) talking to me about the Torch. I didnt doubt him because he was quite a bit older than me. anyway, if i get back in time from the BBC building in lincoln next friday, i'll call in to Kontak and say hello

he did indeed. billed as the greatest all nighter ever. Jnr Walker, Major Lance, Eddie Holman, all live on stage............ only thing wrong was the Major didnt show i thought Eddie Holman was superb that night, Jnr was even better, especially when thy did 'Tune up' heres a clipping i kept from Echoes, (looking a bit dog eared but it proves i wasnt dreaming )

Tont Clayton lived at the old framland rectory in Harston after he moved from the Rectory at Eaton (last i heard was he lived in the lace market, nottm). Biz is still around , hes a good mate of mine, Webby lives in Coffs harbour (Oz) and eats sleeps breathes Northern soul. Neil olive will be back, i'll wager that. Wokko (Frank/Steve) is 465 yrs old but he's been there and done that (Torch, Casino, cleethorpes etc etc) Ian Smart is long since gone, i know his younger Brother Mark well, we went to school together , he still does the Nationals in Aus im reliably informed by Webby! there are lots of faces still doing a bit, myself included. in fact , if i get home in time i'll be down to Kontaks's next friday .
