  1. 26th or 28th of May just had a night last weekend which was small but ok for here.
  2. a funky week
  3. Thanks guys, I have seen the discography/track list (which is missing at least 2 other Kelly Bros/King Pins LPs by the way). I know it's definitely a gospel LP, no confusion there. I was just hoping to hear from someone who has actually heard it since the copy I am looking at is sealed & a little more expensive than my usual "take a gamble on an LP" limit.
  4. Can someone give me a description of what this LP sounds like? I really like the Kelly Bros (secular as well as gospel) usually but want to know if this LP is up to their usual standard? Is it deep gospel ballads, uptempo church-wrecking or a mix of both?
  5. that's actually a later Drifters track (from 1967), it's on 45. i don't recall it being on LP.
  6. i think it may have been in press/available in this format through much of the 1970s.
  7. 1967, 2nd press, is yours mono or rechannelled for stereo?
  8. don't think so. Walter Scott wikipedia is this the same Walter Scott on Pzazz?

  14. yeah, they've been up for a while, fascinating stuff, a lot of people use them for getting release dates on records. The pics are great.
  15. Lots of reissue LPs which were originally on VeeJay & related labels.
  16. Tollie is the original, VJ International is a later (but still legit) repress.
  17. Hi everyone, trying to do some basic research on a New Zealand guitarist who toured the UK with Jr Walker's All Stars sometime in the late 60s just wanting to know if anyone would have pics or info on Jr Walker tourdates/venues from the time?

Just to clarify, in the 3rd post, I had already had the 45 watchlisted for a couple of days & was essentially playing devil's advocate at the 2nd poster's act in posting an active auction link up. This will no doubt bring more attention to B***'s auction which is good for him but not quite so good for the rest of us. More devil's advocate, what if Soul Hawk had responded to the first post with his own auction link?? What if he'd asked a friend to post the link up in reply?? A real can of worms

wow, hadn't seen that auction, high snipe set, thanks
  20. My girlfriend is currently having hassles with this. A while back she ought some cheaper stuff off a UK seller on ebay, the transaction went fine. He then emailed direct & said he was tired of ebay & sent a list of higher end 45s, email communication went on for a bit & everything seemed trustworthy & above board so she accepted to buy a few for a few hundred pounds, he insisted on gift payment (which we don't have on our accounts, it has to go through as payment owed instead & the buyer then pays the fees), so she paid as "payment owed", paid the fees as well, then never got the records & has no comeback. Now the emails bounce back & his ebay account has been closed. To top it all off, last week another UK seller has just done the same thing (don't know if it's for real or not as we have both bought cheaper stuff off him on ebay a couple of times without problem) & she is thinking about paying this guy too, but you just don't know who is genuine now & the previous experience makes one think twice. So if anyone can vouch for a Paul Gatley before she sends the payment this time that would be good for her
  21. RIP I enjoyed seeing his performances on "The Beat" DVDs Sad news.
