  4. Yes...Had the first PM of the swap.... Please EMAIL (like when you send someone an email in the real none-soul-sorce world) Sure i mentioned that in the original post! Dont want to get anal about this, just makes it easier to get all info and send it out to everyone in the same way...... Chris
  5. Ok, New CD swap for November.....the theme this time will be ......da da da daaaarrrr "My current fave spins of the moment". This can be the things you have just bought, just discovered on an lp, some oldies you have forgotten about, tunes tucked away on a CD, rare, cheap, B-sides.... etc etc ......anything as long as its something you have been playing at home recently! OK...Here are the instructions...they are very clear, You must email your NAME, POSTAL ADDRESS and EMAIL address to chris.soul@btinternet.com . No Pms...No texts,No smoke signals, No "I emailed you last week", This starts NOW.......... The first 30 to respond are included....not 31, 32 0r 33...no matter who you are....If we have`nt got 30 by Sunday night then its closed and we will go with the number of people who have responded.... If your CD player has broken, your wife is about to leave you,you are gonna get flooded (sorry Sean!), you have a terminal disease or for whatever reason you think you may not be able to record a quality CD of soul music in the next 6 weeks , copy it 30 times and put it in the post....PLEASE DONT INCLUDE YOURSELF IN THE SWAP!!! If you have not done it before, dont be shy, great way to hear new tunes..... I await your emails...... I`ll update the number of participents as the weekend goes on... Remember...its EMAIL. Cheers, Chris PS, Dont mean to be detrimental just spelling out the rules.....
  6. OK Guys...its that time...i`m gonna post the new thread right now... No more replies to this thread please......just respond in the manner requested on the new thread...."CD swap November 2007" Looking forward to another good one... Chris

  10. Dont worry Baz you wont be alone! I know some of the guys will be over there.... At the last Allentown there were ten UK Northern guys there...plus a German....but fair to say we all found "something", not as much as if we had it all to ourselves but what the hell...had a good few beers at night too! Good luck mate. Chris
  11. The concerts are as entertaining as they have always been and they are in the studio and consistently recording new material. To label the group as simply a tribute act or even worse as a franchise is doing them a great dis-service, if you can't imagine the tempts without Ruffin and Kendricks then this isn't for you but if you can accept that a group goes through changes in its lifetime the concert is worth attending. Now the tops is a different matter, they were together so long without changes I can understand where the want to see them isn't there. They are still an enjoyable group to see and Theo Peoples does a sterling job in Levi's lead but no-one can ever replace Levi. .............................. Well said Sean, I agree with every word...still a great night out...... Chris
  12. PS: I've an address list which my faithful PA, Stephanie, is using to despatch with, however, I'm unsure if its kosher. If someone could forward me a current list I'd be much obliged.
  13. Guys, I`m sorry some people didnt send theirs out last time, to be honest thats just not on...If someone can provide me with a list i`ll ensure these people are`nt included in this swap. I am glad to run the swap again from the point of view of collating the names and addresses etc but really cant keep tabs on everyone who should have sent a Cd out.... I think we will keep the number to 30 as we tried a smaller number the first time and got inundated with people wanting to be in....tell you what we will say 30 max and keep it open for 2 days, gives everyone a chance... I`ll post a new thread for the new swap....probably over the weekend...... Still need a theme...? The Manship book one would be a toughie....how about, "the last 20 records I have bought" or "The best stuff i have bought/ discovered in the last year" or "the best double-siders"?? Any thoughts? Cheers, Chris
  14. Mike Jemmison "I want some satisfaction" on Geneva...been spinning this at the Three Greyhounds and already had some interest........... Chris
  15. OK Guys...Its that time of the year again...who is ready for another CD swap??? I`ll post up next week on a new thread and we will see who is interested again... Meanwhile...how about a theme....any ideas? Chris.
  16. Just tried one thru ebay at a tenner with no takers....I dont actually think its that good, and i dont really think its a version of the other Detroit "Lover come back"....its actually a recut of their 1959 doo-wop hit of the same name i believe... Sorry Dave, its all about opinions! And no, i have`nt got one for sale at a tenner! Chris
  17. I could certainly do with a copy, and would be able to contribute, i`ve been selling Northern/ 70s Lps off my list for over 3 years. Maybe we start an unnofficial guide on here...just need someone to collate the info...as well as a price guide its important to me that we highlight the "big" tracks too. Actually i suppose we have already started......see my posts on "Help required" in the "Look in your box" section........ Cheers, Chris.
  18. Played thru a few of these Lps now...cant really say anything has hit me between the eyes yet.....I`ll keep on playing.... Cheers, Chris
