  1. Clips are not the actual 45s offered for sale. Paypal gift preferred, please add £2 for UK recorded delivery. Thanks for looking. Johnny Daye — "I'll Keep On Loving You"Â (Blue Star) M- £50 (fab double sider) *****SOLD****** 1984 Love Machine — "Your Breakin' My Heart"Â (Melon) Ex £70 (has had niter plays — very atmospheric — superb IMO; usually seen @ £100+) Syl Foreman — "Before I Leave You"Â (Big Star) VG++ £25 (seriously bargain price for this pounding slab of R&B) *****SOLD***** Sunny & The Sunliners — "No One Else Will Do"Â (Tear Drop WDJ) Ex- £15 (organ driven uptempo dancer) Margie Joseph — "Why Does A Man Have To Lie"Â (Okeh WDJ) VG++ £15 (fabulous dancer — sure it would have had spins in the past, but lots of potential for today) *****SOLD***** The Unluv'd — "Ain't Gonna Do You No Harm"Â / "An Exception To The Rule"Â (Parkway) M- £10 (superb version of the New Wanderers — great flip side dancer too) Candace Love — "Peace Lovin Man"Â (Aquarius) M- £10 (great dancer) *****SOLD****** The Players — "I Wanna Be Free"Â (Minit) VG++ £10 (very very nice Impressions style group soul dancer — type of record that's been the mainstay of soul club dancefloors for 50 years now - superb)
  2. Flip the Valaquons over Adam.
  3. Thanks, I knew that was on JM's site but it's the wrong side. That's the psychedelic side "Magic Baby", not "Your Breakin' My Heart" (sic). It's that side I need. Best
  4. Anybody out there have a soundclip of this record please? Thanks.
  5. Hi All Got these for sale (rather reluctantly as I like them all, but there you go). Paypal gift preferred, please add £2 for UK recorded delivery. The clips are not the actual 45s offered for sale. Thanks for looking. Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes - "What Can A Man Do" (Arctic) Ex (very slight label wear - 'X' on B side) £50 (absolutely brilliant mid tempo, achingly good) *****SOLD***** The Dream Merchants - "Stop (You're Breaking My Heart)" (Renee WDJ) VG++ £60 (fabulous male group dancer - top drawer) *****SOLD***** 1984 Love Machine - "Your Breakin' My Heart" (Melon) Ex £70 (unfortunately I could not find a soundclip of this - only the B side, which is a fuzz guitar psychedelic thing; this is a moody atmospheric mid-tempo builder; apparently was a big spin for Shifty at the 100 Club some years back, certainly has a niter feel to it - superb record IMO)
  6. * ALL SOLD NOW THANKS* Big Jay McNeely — "I Love You, Oh Darling"Â / "Oh What A Fool"Â (Swingin') M- (except for very slight ringwear) £15 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sb1iIcMoELc Lynn Taylor & The Peachettes — "Sweet Little Girl"Â (Clock) VG+ £10 (clip has the slow "ËœA' side first then "Little Girl"Â which is a neat R&B dancer — I have no idea which label came first though folks and the title is slightly different, though they are the same tune might perhaps be a slightly different mix or recording though) Lennie Miles — "I Wouldn't Be Here"Â / "Mind Your Own Biz"Â (Groove) VG++ (would be M- but for one prominent surface mark across the "Biz"Â side) £10 Ruth Brown — "Say It Again"Â / "Shake A Hand"Â (Philips) VG++ £10 Jimmy Justice — "Ain't That Funny"Â (Kapp) M- £10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfZfLnIJCag Jimmy Jones — "The Search Is Over"Â / "Handy Man"Â (Cub) VG £5
  7. Now that's a different debate altogether Pete........
  8. Nice one Dobber. Out of my league price wise, but I did used to hound him to play it for me at the Dome back then.
  9. Fabulous record. Still only the 2 copies kicking about or have more surfaced? Surprised Mr Flynn was letting this go..........
  10. Is there such a thing as an "official bootleg CD"? Surely that is an oxymoron...........
  11. Indeed. I will always associate this record with Dave, Capitol Soul Club and those fantastic nights at the Dome.
  12. Cecil Washington?
  13. I agree Russ.
  14. Good point! How many are out there now?
  15. Scales new heights? https://www.ebay.com/itm/330780000955?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Great record though.
  16. I know Duncan of old and I would buy from him, no hesitation. Best Mark
  17. A few more to go. Clips are not the actual records I am selling. Usual drill, Paypal (gift) preferred please, but I am flexible. Please add £2 for UK recorded delivery. The Values - "Return To Me" / "That's The Way" (invicta) VG £25 (Early male group - Return is a really nice mid-tempo beat ballad which has been getting some attention and is listed in some places up to a ton. Yours at a snip here....) Johnny Daye - "I'll Keep On Loving You" (Blue Star) Ex £50 (This is just a great record) The Unluv'd - "Ain't Gonna Do You No Harm" (Parkway) M- £15 (Great uptempo version of the New Wanderers) Don & Juan - "What I Really Meant To Say" (Big Top) Ex - except someone has written 'Dick' on the other side..........exactly! £15 (Beautiful, pleading mid tempo) SOLD Jay Dee Bryant - "Come Summer" (Herald WD) VG (plays great) £20 (Superb early mid-tempo - my girlfriend will kill me if I sell this because she loves it!) SOLD .............and please do check out my last sales listing if you haven't already - Many thanks for looking.
  18. A few left over from my weekend sales and some additional bits and pieces of all sorts. Please note, the clips are not the actual 45s I am selling. Paypal (gift) preferred, but flexible. Please add £2 for UK recorded delivery. Thanks for looking. Steve Colt — "Dynamite"Â (Big Beat) Ex £30 (great big heavy James Brown style funk sound — popular with the funksters out there, so I gather!) https://www.divshare.com/download/13205446-636 Chris Bartley — "Truer Words Were Never Spoken"Â / "This Feeling You Give Me"Â (Vando) VG++ £15 (Van McCoy Northern magic on both sides) Gloria Taylor — "Total Disaster"Â (Mercury WD) Ex £25 (superb Detroit production with nice funky overtones — very atmospheric dancer) SOLD Sonny Stiles & His Kings Men — "Give A Little Bit"Â (Joy WD) Ex £25 (fabulous atmospheric mid-tempo) https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/d/116325/STILES,_SONNY_and_his_KINGS_MEN Queenie Lyons — "Drown In My Own Tears"Â (Deluxe demo) VG++ £20 (evergreen stomper — brilliant) The Scott Bros — "We Like Girls"Â / "Magic Wand"Â (Zachron) Ex £25 (full on brilliant Northern both sides — just listen to Mark Freeman enthusing on the clip!) SOLD Freddie Scott — "(You) Got What I Need"Â (Shout) Ex £15 (great crossover) SOLD James Carr — "Coming Back To Me Baby"Â (Goldwax - blue) VG++ £10 (stomping dancer — that so-called "Ëœclub' sound which is more and more popular) Ivory Joe Hunter — "Every Little Bit Helped Me"Â (Goldwax — blue) VG++ £15 (ditto! Great oldie) Stu Gardner — "Expressin' My Love"Â (Chisa — red label) Ex £15 (popular funky, mid-tempo, soulful dancer — superb) The Famous Chromes — "Teach Me"Â (Drive) VG++ £20 (great up tempo dancer - absolute giveaway) Five Keys — "Hey Girl"Â (Inferno) Ex £15 (nice male group mid-tempo — bags of potential in this record) The Fabulous Apollos — "Some Good In Everything Bad"Â (Valtone) VG- £20 (classic, brilliant Detroit — admittedly, this copy is not the best! There are some crackles going on, but it sounds OK loud at home or played out, which I have used it for. Labels are a bit grubby, but intact. Condition reflected in bargain price and will always refund — and have done — anybody for anything you're not happy with) SOLD Anita Humes & The Essex — "What Did I Do?"Â (Roulette) VG £15 (what a classic floorfiller — again, not the best nick, but perfectly playable — I have DJed with it; label has a tear just above the title on the left hand-side; condition reflected in bargain price, but usual satisfaction deal) SOLD Tony Talent — "Gotta Tell Somebody"Â (Vando WDJ) VG £20 (ditto! Perfectly playable if you're prepared to put up with some relatively minor crackles — labels have a bit of ringwear, not as shiney as they once were, but are pretty good overall, about the same as in the YouTube clip actually — same deal as the last two) Carol Woods — "If I Let You"Â (Ember — UK test pressing) VG+ £20 (bit of a curio this one — really nice crossover sound, always thought it had potential. This is a test pressing on a standard light blue UK Ember label with felt tip, handwritten titles) SOLD
  19. The other side of H J Jackson is a beautiful mid-tempo too, "Please Forgive Me". Love it.
  20. Looking for a copy in reasonable nick at a reasonable price please. Ta! NOW SORTED - THANKS FOR LOOKING.
  21. Mind you Bob, many a Northern DJ over here playing country and hard rock records anyway!!
  22. Mixed bag of Northern, funk, R&B, crossover and a couple of left fielders which may be of interest. Add £2 for UK recorded delivery please. Thanks for looking! The V Wagers — "Lucky I Found You"Â / "Until I Found You"Â (Salem) Ex £20 (superb double sided crossover — "Lucky"Â is better than "Until"Â) SOLD Steve Colt — "Dynamite"Â (Big Beat) Ex £30 (great big heavy James Brown style funk sound — popular with the funksters out there, so I gather!) https://www.divshare.com/download/13205446-636 Jean DuShon - "All Of A Sudden My Heart Sings"Â (Cadet) Ex (bit of ringwear on other side) VG++ £15 (beautiful mid-tempo 60s crossover) SOLD The Pageants — "Are You Ever Coming Home"Â (RCA WD) Ex £30 (absolutely fabulous mid-tempo and a bargain price— totally unfashionable in today's clammer for all things funky! Nonetheless, still a beautiful record — go on, be unfashionable!) SOLD Chris Bartley — "Truer Words Were Never Spoken"Â / "This Feeling You Give Me"Â (Vando) VG++ £15 (Van McCoy Northern magic on both sides) Snapper — "I Was Just Passing Through (Your Neighbourhood)"Â (Nation-Wide) VG (label is Ex) £25 (superb 70s crossover which seems to attract some demand — spoken intro is a bit long but worth the wait! Condition not as solid as the clip, hence price) SOLD Gloria Taylor — "Total Disaster"Â (Mercury WD) Ex £25 (superb Detroit production with nice funky overtones — very atmospheric dancer) Sonny Stiles & His Kings Men — "Give A Little Bit"Â (Joy WD) Ex £25 (fabulous atmospheric mid-tempo) https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/d/116325/STILES,_SONNY_and_his_KINGS_MEN Queenie Lyons — "Drown In My Own Tears"Â (Deluxe demo) VG++ £20 (evergreen stomper — brilliant) Tony Harrison — "Sad Occasion"Â (Commerce) Ex £20 (this is a ton on one dealer's site! It is a damn good record mind — storming dancer) SOLD Lovemasters — "Pushin' And Pullin' " (Jacklyn) Ex £30 (popular sound — driving Northern — great, great record) Marion James — "I'm The Woman For You"Â / "Find Out What You Want"Â (K&J) M- £50 (dogs knackers R&B tinged dancer getting action — added bonus of a superb mid-tempo flip) SOLD The Scott Bros — "We Like Girls"Â / "Magic Wand"Â (Zachron) Ex £25 (full on brilliant Northern both sides — just listen to Mark Freeman enthusing on the clip!) Marshall & The Chi-Lites — "Love Bandit"Â / "Pretty Girl"Â (Daran) Ex £40 (2 brilliant sides — Bandit is a dancefloor favourite, but Pretty Girl is fantastic mid-tempo) SOLD
  23. Physician, heal thyself. 6 tunes, but only 5 records - that's 'Sunday 5' in my (and any sensible person's) book, not 'Sunday 6'. I'm having you under the Trade Descriptions Act sunshine!
