Forgotten Monsters From Wigan Etc Days
The Instro was played, probably 10 years or more before that awful vocal came along. The best thing I ever did was send my copy to Manship and get him to auction it when it was resurrected 2-3 years ago and he sold it for almost £900 and I used the cash to buy some really great records and rid my collection of another filler that I bought on the spur of the moment for £40

Sam Moultrie - i’ll always love you
Got it thank you. I will post it tomorrow. Paul

Sam Moultrie - i’ll always love you
Give me £200 and I will send it special delivery included in the cost. I don't mean to sound like a skinflint but it is a really good copy, the label has a few marks but the vinyl plays mint. I only ever sell records if I have more than one copy and I always spend the money on more records! If you don't buy it I will put in on ebay along with some others where I have more than one copy. Paul

Silky Hargreaves ADDITIONAL COSTS!
I doubt very much that the bidders for this have noticed that if this record comes to the UK they will have to pay import duty on top of the shipping costs. At the moment the total cost for this record stands at over $1000 so more than £700.00 for a VG+ condition copy. https://www.ebay.com/i/263732748580?rmvSB=true

Ty Karim - Lightin' Up Romark or Car-A-Mel
Ok so I have to own up to being a twat! I didn't realise that they were two different records. Anyway I glad that I have the Car-A-Mel one because having just listened to them both "Lighten Up" is by far the better record (IMHO) Thank you all for your input and especially to Dylan for putting me on the right track

Ty Karim - Lightin' Up Romark or Car-A-Mel
Please can someone tell me which is the original and which is the most rare, the Car-A-Mel or the Romark issue. I have a stone mint Car-A-Mel copy that I bought from a US dealer about 15 years ago but have not seen one for sale for ages. Currently there is a Romark copy on ebay that has been bid up to a huge price. Is it really worthy that much?

Comedy Sale Of The Day
If you look again the seller has relisted the item so it seems that the nut case who bid on it finally realised that it was a boot and refused to pay

Marvin Gaye-Too Busy G/W Demo for £530!!!!
I have been trying to value my collection so regularly records watch on ebay and other site just to get an idea of where prices are and I have just seen this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Marvin-Gaye-Too-Busy-Thinking-About-My-Baby-1969-UK-45-TAMLA-MOTOWN-DEMO-/352183606705?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=eXRIpl455vm2hvLCDMh9ldT1AZI%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc Is this CORRECT?? I have a stone mint copy that is currently sitting on my spreadsheet with what I thought was a fair value of £45, am I missing something or has the world gone completely mad?

Gloria Jones Ebay Madness!
I am not questioning the creditability of Carolina Soul, I have bought many records from them over the years and have never been disappointed with the grading. What I am questioning is the price for what I had always assumed was not a rare record, even on a white demo. Like most of you I watch Ebay and other auctions to see what is happening and it is very true that prices for the old classic sounds are very much on the up. Perhaps the proliferation of new DJ's who have to constantly add to their play lists and replace worn out records that get trashed on crappy club turntables may be the cause?

Gloria Jones Ebay Madness!
I know that the classic oldies are demanding huge prices these day but is this complete madness? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Northern-Soul-45-Gloria-Jones-Tainted-Love-Champion-mp3-/202039834830?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=eXRIpl455vm2hvLCDMh9ldT1AZI%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc I have a stone mint original demo, should I sell it and buy a Ferrari?

Ivorys - please stay at least vg+ cash in hand, paypal friends
It is not a valuable test press, it's just a repressed copy with"test press" written on the label, its a re-press and a reissue. Does that make it rare or valuable? I don't think so. The copy that JM auctioned last week sold for £1400 because A the record is brilliant and always in demand and it was in mint condition. Personally I thought that it might go for more.

The top 500
The Kev Roberts Top 500 was HIS OPINION, his top 500. If he claims that they were the most requested records then his memory has completely gone. He missed so many great records that were massive from 1970-78 which is where 90% of his picks came from and included some really crap stuff that emptied the Wigan dance floor and hardly got played anywhere else because they were CRAP! I so love Soulies because they never miss an opportunity to talk absolute BOLLOCKS

Is it time to sell up?
There are always lots of records for sale BUT where are the BIG tunes? Stashed away in collectors boxes where most will stay for a long time, occasionally a classic pops up, I recently saw Ronnie McNeir sell on eBay for £1500 and a certain well know gentleman sold a copy of Silky Hargreaves on this very site last month for around the same price. So does that have the look of bubble bursting? I don't think so. On the opposite side a mint unplayed copy of Wombat sold in JM's auction a week or so ago for just £225 whereas a minter went on eBay for £500 in September last year, where is the logic in that? I have sold a few biggies over the past couple of years to fund new purchases. 18 months ago JM sold my unplayed copy of Sam Williams for £2323.00 which I was delighted with, until he sold another 9 months later for £3400.00! He also sold my copy of Milton Wright for £878.00 which I was staggered at but just proves that whatever is being played by the big name jocks will spike in value. I am tiered of people saying "That's too much money, I would never pay that" because I remember a mate of mine paying £12.00 for Candi Staton at Wigan in about 1976 and thinking that he must be nuts because at the time I was only earning £18.00 a week! So lets stop moaning about high prices and start looking at our collections just like works of art or classic cars, they are appreciating assets

Price Reductions
Hi Did you sell Sandi Sheldon? If not how much do you want?

Various Wants
I have a Black/Silver issue of Sam Moultrie it is absolutely stone MINT and has never been played, I bought it 5 copies 20 odd years ago from a US dealer. If I sell it I will give it a spin first because last time I sold one the buyer tried to con me into a 50% refund by saying that it had a fault. I offered him a full refund + his postage cost if he returned it but he refused and then gave me crap feedback. I will dig it out and get back to you. How much did you have in mind?

Top Dog Records - New Arrivals
Dave Do you have any information on Bland Alison? I have a copy of this that I had for years and I bloody love it! but I cannot find out anything about who they are or if they made any other recordings. regards Paul

i never knew
The white demo's are boot legs, you will not find an original demo. It was only pressed on the blue issue
