  11. A North West Special Grimsargh resident Tony Mundey, one half of The Happy Mundeys making his Debut. Dave Rimmer living just down the road, but obviously resident DJ at The Excellent Rugby Niters and myself and Simon Ingham residents at Ashton Ukrainian Club, joining mine host Baz Maleady, some quality tunes gonna be hitting the turntables!! Make that a date in your diary!!
  12. WOW, WHAT a Weekend!!! After a barnstorming event last Saturday at Ashton Ukrainian Club, we never rest on our Laurels, pushing on and looking forward already to our Saturday August 16th event and the return of Andy Dyson and a healthy scoop of Cyberman Soul from Preston's Gis Southworth. Meanwhile Team Ukrainian Fixer and non too Shabby DJ Simon Ingham provides our customary Monday Morning Banger and a slice of Philly Soul 60s Style!!

    The Ashton Faithful never fail to amaze, on a super busy Soul Calendar Saturday AND in the middle of Summer Holidays ,our Summer Soul Sensation at Ashton Ukrainian Club could have been affected ! In truth it was never in doubt, with quite a few regulars unable to attend, we had another influx of first time attendees and WHAT a night it was, with a real healthy turn out!! A small snapshot video attached!!! Phil Dunn did a sterling job, as ever, opening the proceedings and the room was already starting to fill up! Yours truly up next, mixing the styles and tempos for the early birds. I'll post a playlist in a bit!! William Mailey was up next returning behind the decks after a great set last year. Again the perfect blend, The Jaedes, Montclairs "hey you" El Corals Band, Clarence Hill, finishing with an awesome mid tempo gem from Tommy Tate "what's the matter" Steve Foran was making his debut at Ashton and lay down the gauntlet for what was to to come Ray Agee "losing again" The Professionals, Poets "wrapped around your finger" and so many more monstrous 45s and the dancers loved it!! Next up, making his first appearance at Ashton Colin Law started with a BANG!! Rudy Love in the first salvo of selections, set the tone, Ricky Allen, Originals "young train, Sag Warfare, Mixed Feelings, John Harris WOWSER and an awesome debut unissued 45 from Ronnie McCain just brilliant!! We hope to have you back behind the decks real soon!! Chris Churm AKA "The Finisher" rounded off a sensational night, Volumes "ain't gonna give you up" Jackey Beavers "a love that never grows old" finishing off with two class mid tempo gems Ralph Graham and Jack Montgomery "don't turn your back"!! The room has just been re-painted and the usual atmospheric wall lights have temporarily been removed, but will be back for our next date, Saturday August 16th with guest DJs Andrew Dyson and Preston Cyberman Gis Southworth, it's gonna be good !!!   16. The Weekend Cometh and our Summer Soul Sensation at Ashton Ukrainian Club awaits. This Saturday July 19th The M60 is gonna get well used with The Gallagher Brothers Re-Union Tour continues just up the road. Just to clarify Tameside Council have no plans to erect fencing around the Ukrainian Club, BUT you will have to pay the princely sum of £6 admission pay on the door to Join The Ashton Faithful for another five and a half hours of Jaw Dropping Rare Soul, You'd be "mad fer it " to miss out !! Bucket Hats may be the order of the day, as in True Mancunian Style, the weather will be Sunshiiiine mixed with the wet stuff !! Colin Law is heading down from Scotland with an amazing selection of 45s as a regular DJ at The Best Venues all over The UK and Europe!!   19. In The words of The Magnetics "we're counting the days" to Saturday July 19th for our Mid Summer Soul Spectacular at Ashton Ukrainian Club. Colin Law a well known face and DJ on our scene is really looking forward to his debut set, as are we, should be a cracker!! Steve Foran resident DJ at Edgley Park Soul Club makes the short hop from Stockport, to Ashton with some monster Rare Soul 45s to entertain the dancers!! William Mailey is back with us after a great Debut Set last year, again an eclectic mix of 45s to cover all the bases. Team Ukrainian will be under pinning the whole thing, to make it the ultimate Old School Soul Club night out.
