Paypal Sucks
Hey Mark It would be interesting to know if you get any feedback from them re. cancelling accounts? How many other people have done this on here? Wonder how many it will take before the notice a trend. Saw an interview with one of the top eBay bods regarding price increases a few weeks ago and basically said number of people listing stuff is going up but amount of items unsold is rising?

Golden Gate Records
Has anybody bought on-line from these guys? I saved a 45 yesterday and received an email, not an invoice, today telling me to send CC details in 2 seperate emails, pretty standard but hen I started thinking this could be anybody. When you buy from Craig Moerere, John Manship etc you usually get a proper invoice emailed to you. Any info gratefully received.

Orlando Record Shops
I was there for Hitsville in the summer, looked in the Yellow Pages, as you do, and Record Shop pages had been ripped out!!! I think that says it all really.

Whats All This About Then?
Arnie j Graham is indeed a top man, I used to go to Bishops Cleeve Academy for Young Gentlemen, sorry Cleeve Comprehensive with him and also know his young brother Andy and his sister. I meant nothing by my comment just wondered how the "infamous" tag came about. I believed he moved to the grim north many years ago and I cant remember the last time I saw him, and I am also now living in Canada.

Whats All This About Then?
Is that infamous Graham Barber as in Graham Barber originally from Cheltenham?

Moaning Us Ebay Buyer
I sometimes wonder if it is worth selling albums on ebay at all. I have to charge $15 for air shipping to Europe and I am positive it puts buyers off. But how else do you sell them? I heard yesterday that Canada Post's costs are going up again on the 15th!!

First Arrivals Of 2007
Was it officially released on a Kit Kat 7 inch or did i dream that? I dont think it was an official release, I seem to remember it being a 7" with 2 tracks on the other side? I also seem to remember a white vinyl copy as well? I plumped for the 12' with 10? tracks on it, including this one and other un-released Detorit stuff but cant remember label name

Dreamgirls Movie - Review
I took the trouble and strife to see this New Years Eve and I have to agree with Pete S. I was under the impression it was based on The Supremes story even in the Musical Stage Show days. There were some superb "mock up's" of Dreams album covers which were direct copies of Supremes covers. There were a lot of Motown similarites - Group was called Dreamettes - Supremes were Primettes etc etc but it did also plough its own furrow with Detorit riots, chittlin circuit etc etc as Maverick mentioned. All in all a good way to spend a couple of hours and Jennifer Hudson's - Im Telling You is nearly as good as Jennifer Hollidays.

Canadian Soul Singers
I can offer Mighty Pope, although he was originally from Jamaica, as was Eddie Spencer, and Black and Ward who have 3 decent mid tempo things on RCA.

Stuart Maconie
Just listened to this on Playback and to be honest couldnt find anything to complain about. It did exactly what it said on the packet, lots of classic Nothern/Sixties Soul and to be honest, how cutting edge can we expect Stuart to be? He is on National radio after all. I could think of a worse way to spend 3 hours at work!! No disrespect intended to Stuart Maconie.

Nasty Goings On With Those Bootlegs
"subscriptions to Tractor Collector Monthly, Chicken Fancier magazine and back issues of the Sheep Worriers' Gazette" These are all essential, quality West Country magazines and should not be mentioned in the same Post as Kev Roberts.

How Did It Get There!?
Not a huge find but many years ago when I was at work I used to ask people if they had any records they didnt want. Guy brought in a bag of British stuff, mostly Pop, a couple of Motown and.... a copy of Tony Hestor on Karate!!!! How the f... did that get there? Still got it.

More Dreadful Repro 45s
Just catching up on this thread and it reminded me of an incident last year. I go to maybe 15 record shows in the Toronto area every year and there was always a guy selling "moody" DVD's. He always had everything, and all from the mixing desk, and was doing a very brisk business. Anyway, last year at the Hamilton show I am casually flipping through 45's and all of a sudden the Bill storm in, grab this guy and all his wares and cart him off. Upshot is we will not be seeing him at any shows for at least 5 years!!! My point being, if it is illegal and breaching copyright, as in the Millie Jackson stufff etc, a well placed phone call will put a dent in his wallet, especially as most of you seem to know who and where they are coming from. Just a thought.

Al Green
If you get a chance get yourselves along to see Al Green. Just got back from seeing him at Niagara Falls Casino and didnt really know what to expect, a gospel show, cabaret? All I can say is fcuking brilliant, 11 piece band, superb backing singers, lots of hits, couple of gospel things which were amazing and then a 10 minute funk workout by the band at the end of the show, all viewed from the 5th row. This was an anniversary gift for the wife so many "brownie points" safely stored away as well.

More Dreadful Repro 45s
I have to agree with Winnie here, if this is illegal what legal ramifications can there be. As my wife is always telling me " there is no defamation in truth "

More Dreadful Repro 45s
I have to be honest, I was tempted by The Isleys - My Love Is Your Love made to look like a TMG demo!

Cover Ups
"Has a record ever been 'discovered' simultaniously (or near enough) by 2 DJ's on the scene without them knowing and covered up with two completely different titles and names?" Dave McCadden wrote a story about him and somebody else finding a Sue Lynne on UK Rca on the same day and both covering them up as different names but with the same initials!!
