Which Artist Would You Like To See Live
Jocko wrote -"I seen Bobby Bland a few years ago in Glasgow and have to be honest and say he was a bit dissapointing, he is just very old now and the voice, while still strong compared to some, does not do the man justice any more. Being fair it was in a huge auditorioum which is probably not the best place to see him" I saw him at the Silver Dollar Room in Toronto, which is a small Blues club and I have to say he was fcking phenomenal, small club, great band, Bobby in a Purple Velvet jump suit!! They had to help him up onto the small stage and to be honest I was beginning to have doubts but when he started he was just great. I also saw Mighty Sam McClain and he can still belt out the tunes and still active touring but not many Northern tracks?

Mirwood Tunes
On the subject of Mirwood promos, are they all Same Both Sides or did some come out with A and B sides? I have only ever seen the same both sides type.

Kevin Laverty Or "soufriere1" - Warning
OK, just got back from the Toronto and your man Lavertey was there selling. I actually bought some nice things off him but thats not what Im here for. Spoke to him and he said he had loads more of the same and gave me the number 416 551 0688 and to call him re. more records. Try this but the 1 after the 55 could be a 7. This is a different number than in the first post. Asked for his address but he told records were at his Grans and we would talk, he also told me he doesnt sell on ebay anymore but we know that is not strictly true from previous posts. There is also a number in the Fryer Mantis post for a record store where he is supposed to work, this store is called Ric's Collectables and in conversation with another guy I heard him say that he still worked there "now and again". Ric is a pretty nice guy so give the number a call and see if you can find anything that way. Next time I am in there I will also ask him if he knows Kevin but I have been to Ric's at all times of the week and never seen him there. Thats all for now, hope this helps in the end

Kevin Laverty Or "soufriere1" - Warning
I wouldnt say I know him but I have spoken to him at a few of the Toronto shows. His ebay feedback was full of negs/neutrals about shipping times. I have read the Soulstrut posts and made a conscious effort to see if he was at the Toronto show last week but I didnt see him. There is a DJ/Hippedy Hoppety show in Toronto this weekend which I believe he attends, I will see if he is there.

Am I Sad?
OK, lets attempt to clear up the organ playing!!! I assume the bloke is accompanying the singer because it says accopmanied by " " on the organ? I dont have the record here at work but I am assuming it isnt a woman as the first name is, if my memory is correct, is Frank!!! I am not sure if it is a test pressing or acetate but it just has a blank United label with typed info on it. And finally, if 2 blokes want to get together and have a sing song and one of them wants to play with his organ I am not going to judge them!!!

Detroit Stars
I have just noticed that there are 45's on Soul King on ebay as well now, they look different to the ones I got from Rod Dearlove in the 80's. Surely there isnt demand enough to warrant booting these is there? The proper ones were plentiful on ebay not long ago!! Confused in Canada

What Tunes In Your Opinion Would Work At A Student Night?
Are there any songs about sleeping all day, putting dirty cups and plates on the side just above where the dish washer is, using Mums car as his own, going out and leaving the cat in and then ignoring the pile of poo right by the back door, sitting in his room all day Sat and Sun then going out at 10:00, spilling juice and cereal all over the stairs and just stepping over it? Father of 19 year old 2nd year Uni student!!

Am I Alone In Thinking The Jam Were Poor?
Just seen this thread and am too lazy to read through 3 pages. The Jam or Paul Weller in particular was always known as a Northern fan and possibly turned a few Mod heads in the later days and certainly in the Style Council days. I had a tape which either came from Adey Pountain or Ian Clark where they had tagged on The Jam's Strange Town when it was released, definate Northern influence there. Still got there first 2 albums and most of Wellers solo CD's, nothing wrong with them as far as I am concerned.
