Trotter's Mansfield
I vaguely remember "Trotters" from a mod night (or it might have been a soul night with mods there) about 86/87 ? but I certainly remember Renaissance listening to FK, Sasha, John Digweed & many more. Can't remember who I saw there Brilliant place both as Trotters & Venue 44

This banter takes me back to Sat night when I walked in the kitchen as you two were pratting about with the collander & cake & I said be careful Sue's outside (meaning outside the kitchen on the dancefloor & with the door being open she might see you) only for Paul to have a dicky fit & shout "She's outside ??!!!, get her in quickly, we need her inside now so we can get her on stage & give her the cake" The look of relief on your face Paul when I explained she wasn't actually outside the building but just the kitchen was a real golden moment

Soulboy - The Movie. You've Seen It So . .
I thought it was ok & have given it a 7/10. I never went to Wigan but can relate to some of it from attending other nighters. It made me laugh, reminisce, sing, foot tap, gasp, gringe (dance off) & smile so all in all an ok watch. I personally thought the archive footage of Wigan worked really well. It was a nice touch. Would I buy the DVD ? Certainly as I spotted a number of dancers that I knew but as they were only on for a nano second at a time I'd like to be able to pause it, slow motion it & rewind it so I can check out their acting skills in more detail A quite enjoyable watch for me

view fm the sea (2)
I know that cos I was watching you & Julia make the tea Oh Andy I just love your beach. The sand is the softest I've ever known in this country & that walk out to the sea is something else. I wanted to do it again on the Saturday but the tide was further out so I guess it would have taken me more than an hour or so. I will defo be back to paddle in the sea before the next weekender Get the kettle on xxx

It took me 30 mins to walk to the sea from the Prom & that is when the tide was not fully out!! Beautiful soft sand, clean beach & a great walk. A must do if you visit St Annes

Derek that IS a fantastic Casino picture. As you know I was too young to attend but looking at this fab picture I wish my mum & dad had got a move on far sooner than they did Erm also what is this at the bottom left of the picture? Two people snogging I didn't think it was that sort of place. Strewth people will want to make a love story type of film about the Casino next Great pictures Derek

Northern Soul at Lowton - The End of an Era - Fri 10th Sept
Yes I remember the gorgeous SLM been there that night. I think you were parked sunk near us & I do remember finding a blue pair well brown pair of sandles on my next visit to Lowton. Great times indeed oh Janette it was funny the night of the mud bath and the Moral of the story ..... if it's pishing it down on Fri 10th September 2010 make sure you get there early so that you get a space on the car-park
