  1. Here's a short list of a few Northern Oldies (plus two lesser known) that I sort of got tired of and would like to swap 1:1 for some 'fresh blood'. Feel free to offer any sort of lesser know 60s Soul: R&B, midtempo, uptempo Northern, whatever as long as it's soulful All records play graded. For scans etc. just PM me... BOB BRADY - GOODBYE BABY - CHARIOT D/J (EX) 60 Nice Northern evergreen. Rare genuine DJ copy. DORIS TROY - I'LL DO ANYTHING - CALLA D/J (VG++/EX) 100 HERBERT HUNTER - I WAS BORN TO LOVE YOU/PUSH AWAY FROM THE TABLE - SPAR (VG++) 75 Stamped original. Plays really great but sadly looks worn, hence bargain price. THE INVITATIONS - WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME BABY - DYNOVOICE D/J (M-) 125 Absolute flawless copy apart from the small drill hole. Was unplayed when I bought it and I played it only once or twice ever since. A real stunning beauty! JOE PERKINS - RUNAWAY SLAVE / NATALIE WOULD - MUSICOR W/D (EX) 100 Rare early 60s R&B/Popcorn dancer. Nice flipside too. Will add RefoSoul clip tonight. THE TOYS - DESERTED - FRENCH COLUMBIA E.P. (EX) 50 Don't let that group name put you off! Haunting mid to uptempo dancer on the french only 45 release. Always had many "deck lookers" when I played that one out.

  4. Marc, is it Marv Johnson Happy days/baby, baby on Heliodor 453 208? Well documented November 1960 release. Rare, but not super rare (Unless you have a picture sleeve for it, that must be pretty rare)
  5. Thanks, Chalky! Looking forward to the scans....
  6. Last ever update, sleeveless Four Tops added. £8 for all three, anyone?
  7. For sale: CHUCK STRONG - YOU BEAT ME AT MY GAME / PT. 2 - VENTURE (EX+) £15 (incl. P&P!) Great '79 dancer, lovely copy. Paypal only, please PM for further details.

  9. Was wondering if somebody can help me with this one here: I got a copy of Upsetters/Bleechers - The Vampire/Check him out on Upsetter UK 317. But flipside is misprinted and reads "the upsetter" instead of "check him out". Is this any sort of oddity or rarity? And what would be a fair price for it? Cheers Benji
  10. Dan/Chalky: Thanks for confirming that. Will see if I can find the Shades article. Thing is all the mags are stored away in the cellar.
  11. Dave, what do you mean by cover version? Isn't Jack Hammer already a cover version (L.Anthony?) Back to topic: Of the three different releases shown I'm only familiar with the german one (last scan) and tho it doesn't turn up very often it's not super rare. 2nd one looks french to me?

  13. Can anyone please confirm that they are the same Hytones as in "Bigger and better" and "good news" ? Was told they are but I somehow can't believe that. All three tracks sound so different to each other.
  14. Sean, I agree, sleeve looks nice. That's why my mate sent it to me. Tried various Google searches but they didn't bring up any really useful information. I dont even know if either side of the Vogue 45 are soul or pop or polka or whatever CB had one other release in Germany, which has german song titles and therefore I assume is horrrible pop crap
  15. Anyone know this one? Chuck Bennet - I can feel it/Love with a touch of soul - German Vogue 45 A mate sent me a scan of this 45 and I have to say I've never seen or heard of either tracks before. Does anyone know what they're like and/or if they came out anywhere else but in Germany?
  16. Wanted: Hiroshima - Never ever - Arista 45 Willing to pay 50 quid if in good nick. Please PM. Cheers!

There's a "my street" listed in the UK 45 discog for Millie, is it the same track? Fontana TF591 1965 My Street/ It's Too Late
  18. Same label as Don & Juan All that's missing is you? Thought it was NY-based reissue/bootleg label?
  19. Mark, you sold a white demo back in Dec 09 for 225 so you should be able to answer your own question, don't you? But apart from that I'd agree with Mr Smith. 225/250 max. A lovely record that never really made it IMO...

Nice one. Speaking of euro 45s picked this one up @ 20 quid. First copy I ever seen and didn't even know it came out in Germany before I saw it:
  21. Pete/Mark: Thanks a lot!
  22. Downloaded it last night and as you said, fantastic quality. Wish all live tapes I have (WC, Stafford) had that quality. Any chance of a tracklisting, anyone? Would save time playing through the whole podcast if I want to pick out a certain track.
  23. Thanks for uncovering (seriously)! Played the audio file a few times, it sounded so familiar but couldn't place it. Now I know, I already have it, it's on the Bobby Patterson "matter of time" album
  24. perfect tempo for the Popcorn scene so it might be a biggie in Belgium?
