Didn't somebody write in Shades of Soul that it was actually Brian Rare who started playing it off the japanese CD or off a dub taken from the CD?

Did This Ever Get Released On Vinyl?
Ask Ian Levine, sounds like one of his works. By the way, I don't think it's an amazing version. It's just another version IMHO.

Deep Funk And N/soul What The Funkin' Hell
Marc, I'm confused. Which scene "10 to 15 years back" are you talking about? Berlin? England? Surely not the german scene in the early/mid 90s in general because a) nobody was fed up with Northern, R&B, Modern or whatever. It was across the board with emphasis on 60s soul and I don't recall you attending any german events outside of Berlin back then. So how would you have noticed? I travelled all over Germany, Austria and Northern Italy from early 90s to early 2K's and the music was always mixed. Maybe you got fed up playing "traditional" Northern at the Hip City club and moved towards R&B sounds but certainly not the german soul scene as it was 10, 15 years ago.

How Big Is The Soul Scene?
I'm sure this number increases significantly once one of the Hamburg guys notices this thread. I have the impression they have dozens of different events each w/end. For Munich: no regular allnighters or soul nights as far as I know. Infrequent events (e.g. Soulful World Allnighter in march). There are a handful of club nights playing some soul inbetween but I don't think they'd qualify for a proper soul do.

Never Seen This Before, Germany Copy
Is that a creamy coloured sleeve with a drawing of a marching band? Nice one, you don't see that very often nowadays... Re. Gene Middleton: To be honest I never seen or heard of that record. It looks like an independent german release, something you hardly see. I guess 99% of all soul music in Germany was released on major labels, or smaller labels owned by majors...The record itself, what is it? Is it a Hit or Soul or Beat or Gospel or Country or R&B or Western or even Polka?

Pete Smith
So it did on my copy. As I'm not that familiar with Reggae, especially instrumentals, it took me some time to identify it. But it really is Val Bennett - High tide.

the flipside of the Chappy 45 is Rupie Edwards Allstars with Val Bennett - High tide

Exportations - I Want You
Unless it's in M- condition, this should be well below 100 quid. And never ever an auction item, no matter what the condition is. This turns up regularly yet most copies seem to be VG+ condition, it's a low-fi pressing so scratches are pretty audible. A M- copy should be 125 max.

Used to have a copy of this until recently, it's from the 70s. Excellent pressing and soundquality, might be even taken from the master tape. I might be mixing it up with something else but i think it has a skinhead reggae track on flip, Val Bennett? Don't know if it's a different take to any other versions as it's the only one I know. Never had it on another label and don't recall having it on LP or CD either.

Arin Demain Silent Treatment Blue Star Tm-1000
Mr Burton, sorry if I sounded like I was correcting you. I quoted it simply as a reference. Please accept my deepest apologies

Arin Demain Silent Treatment Blue Star Tm-1000
"one of the scene's rarities"? Popsike alone shows 5 copies, two above 2K and three copies way below 2K. I think a starting bid of $2.000 is simply too high.

PETER LAMARR - UNDER LOCK AND KEY/TAKING YOU FOR GRANTED

But posting advert for an upcoming release isn't IMHO, I'm sure that's what Mike meant.
